Butler didn't need Kamar Baldwin to be at 100 percent in its first two games, but it couldn't have asked for much better timing for him to return to full strength. The senior sharpshooter attempts to lead the Bulldogs to their first 4-0 start in three seasons on Saturday when they host defending Southern Conference champion Wofford.

Baldwin was limited to a total of 19 minutes in wins over IUPUI and New Orleans due to a rib cartilage injury, but he did not appear to be limited in any way in Tuesday's 64-56 win over Minnesota, finishing with 27 points in 35 minutes. "I felt better in the second half. In the first half, I was really nervous, honestly. As far as the injury, I was fine. I was taking what the defense allowed," Baldwin told reporters on a night he shot 10-of-24 from the field while his teammates combined to go 11-for-31. The Terriers started their season in much the same way Butler did with blowout wins over Division II foe Erskine and High Point, but the nation's fourth-longest home winning streak came to an end at 17 games following Tuesday's loss to William & Mary. "We're going to have to rebound better going on the road. … We look forward to going on the road and playing together as a team," first-year coach Jay McAuley said shortly after Wofford collected a meager 21 boards against the Tribe.

ABOUT WOFFORD (2-1): Junior guard Storm Murphy (17.3 points) is averaging 22 points over the last two contests and has more than doubled his scoring average from a season ago in the early going, doing so while shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from 3-point range. Nathan Hoover (17.0) has struggled much more with his shot (34.1 percent from the floor) but has reached double figures to remain the Southern Conference's top active leading scorer (1,156 points). Fellow senior guard Trevor Stumpe (9.7) tallied a season-high 16 points on 7-of-9 from the floor and is off to red-hot start, connecting on 63.2 percent of his field-goal attempts and 62.5 percent of his 3-point attempts.

ABOUT BUTLER (3-0): One of the few Bulldogs other than Baldwin able to put together a solid offensive performance Tuesday was junior forward Bryce Nze (13.3 points, 9.7 rebounds), who followed up two double-doubles to open the season with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting and eight rebounds. Aaron Thompson was limited to one point against Minnesota but recorded three blocks; despite tallying a season-low three assists, the junior point guard leads the Big East with 7.3 assists - a mark that ranks 12th in Division I. Sean McDermott also struggled offensively with five points on 2-of-6 from the floor, but the senior forward still ranks first in the Big East in field-goal percentage (66.7) and ninth nationally in 3-point percentage (66.7).

TIP-INS

2. The Terriers are averaging 12.7 made 3-pointers this season, good for the fourth \-best mark in Division I.
