Hartenstein is getting his share of looks, especially with L.A. selling out to stop Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. That past two games, he’s a collective 11 for 13 from the floor for totals of 10 and 12 points with his usage almost doubling to 13.2% from 7.3% in Game 1. His 31 minutes in Game 3 tied his season high in floor time and his seven shots matched his postseason pinnacle. His scoring prop for tonight remain modest, however, at 8.5 O/U. Game 4 projections are very bullish on the Oklahoma City’s big man, with most north of 9.5 points and a ceiling of 11.0.
Luke Kennard o1.5 3-Pointers Made (-115)
Kennard finished 4 for 6 from distance on Saturday. He’d been MIA since Austin Reaves returned to the L.A. rotation but was big to open the playoffs. He started Round 1 making 8 of 11 triples in the first two games then cooled for a 3-for-10 slump from outside before going 2 for 3 from 3-point land in Game 3. In Game 4, the Lakers scaled back a struggling Marcus Smart and Kennard’s usage jumped to 14.5%. Game 4 projections have Kennard pegged for two triples with a positive game script for this prop.
LeBron James o21.5 Points Scored (-118)
Every game in this series has been a blowout, and LeBron James has still managed to play more than 36 minutes in all three contests. With the Los Angeles Lakers down 0-3 in the series—and potentially facing James’ final game with the franchise—there’s every reason to expect elevated minutes and usage from him on Monday. At a total of 21.5 points, we don’t even need elite efficiency against a tough Oklahoma City Thunder defense. We just need volume, and the circumstances strongly suggest that will be there. At the very least, James should go down aggressively hunting his shot. I price the Over 21.5 points closer to -180 for James to clear this number.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander u28.5 Points Scored (-115)
SGA has scored just 18, 22 and 23 points in the three games of this series, yet OKC has covered the spread in each game. Winning Games 1 and 2 by 18 points did not stress the Thunder. Gilgeous-Alexander should stay in cruise control for now.
Maybe this can be construed as doubt in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Then again, much like throwing yourself to the hardwood to draw foul calls, finding rebounds takes effort. And neither SGA nor OKC needs to expend much effort to be the Lakers.
Even LeBron James cannot win this series on his own. But he can go down swinging. James cleared this modest points prop in the first two games of this series. Given the obvious stakes of, ya know, elimination, expect James to get to the rim until the score is too lopsided to dream about.
