About the Golden State Warriors

Last Updated: March 28, 2023

The Golden State Warriors’ strange NBA Title defense continued last week as the Warriors finally grabbed a critical Western Conference road win against the Dallas Mavericks last Wednesday. They were then able to beat the Philadelphia 76ers at home. Still, they fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves at home in a low-scoring affair.

Stephen Curry has been playing some of the best basketball of his career when healthy this season, but it hasn’t been enough to catalyze the rest of the team. Klay Thompson has struggled to live up to his career numbers, and Jordan Poole has been hot and cold all season.

Despite all this, the Warriors still cling to the seventh seed in the West standings, going 5-5 over their last 10. As of Tuesday, they would have to play the eighth-seeded New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in to keep the seventh seed. If they lost, they would need to beat the L.A. Lakers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder winner even to secure a playoff berth.

Fans will get a preview of that scenario Tuesday night as the Warriors host the Pelicans. The Warriors are solid favorites against the Pelicans, laying 8.5 points. After Tuesday, the Warriors rest and regroup before hosting the San Antonio Spurs on Friday evening. On Sunday, the competition jumps by several orders of magnitude when the Warriors travel to Colorado to face the first-place Denver Nuggets.

With just six games left in their season, the Warriors’ odds of winning the NBA Finals haven’t shifted much. You can get them for around +1,100 at most sportsbooks. Before betting on the Warriors this week, check out our latest free Warriors picks.
