Coors Field
Last Meeting ( Sep 21, 2012 ) Arizona 15, Colorado 5
The Arizona Diamondbacks attempt to keep their playoff hopes alive Saturday, when they continue their three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Arizona climbed within 4 1/2 games of St. Louis for the second wild-card spot in the National League with a 15-5 triumph in Friday's series opener. Miguel Montero and Chris Johnson each had three hits and three RBIs while John McDonald added three hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Diamondbacks registered a season-high 19 hits.
Montero raised his RBI total to a career-high 88, tops among all major-league catchers. The Diamondbacks, who have three teams between themselves and the Cardinals, will try to hand the Rockies their eighth consecutive loss. Colorado, which has dropped 14 of 16, must win five of its final 12 contests to avoid its first 100-loss season.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks LH Patrick Corbin (6-7, 4.02 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Jhoulys Chacin (2-5, 4.58)
Corbin is seeking his second consecutive victory after losing three straight decisions. The 23-year-old rookie snapped his skid against San Francisco on Sunday, when he allowed two runs and eight hits over a career-high eight innings. Corbin is 3-4 on the road, with one of the losses coming in Colorado on May 16 as he yielded six runs and nine hits over six frames in his only outing against the Rockies.
Chacin was forced to settle for a no-decision at San Francisco on Monday despite allowing just one run and five hits in five innings. The 24-year-old Venezuelan has been outstanding since returning from a right pectoral injury, yielding one run or less in five of six starts. Chacin, who is 3-2 lifetime against Arizona, gave up one run in four innings of a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on April 14.
WALK-OFFS
1. Rockies LF Carlos Gonzalez missed Friday's loss with a tight left hamstring.
2. Corbin has the distinction of being the losing pitcher in Jamie Moyer's last major-league victory. The 49-year-old Moyer held Arizona to one run and six hits over 6 1/3 innings on May 16.
3. Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill needs one double to become the sixth player in franchise history to record 40 in a season. He also will join 1B Paul Goldschmidt as the third Arizona duo to hit 40 doubles in the same campaign.
