Last Meeting ( Aug 21, 2012 ) Cleveland 1, Seattle 5

The Seattle Mariners attempt to conclude their homestand with a series sweep as they host the struggling Cleveland Indians in the finale of their three-game set on Wednesday afternoon. Seattle, which has won nine of 10 overall, lost the opener of its nine-game homestand before reeling off seven consecutive victories, including a 5-1 triumph on Tuesday. Ace Felix Hernandez lost his bid for a second straight perfect game three pitches into the contest but went on to post his eighth win in a row.

Seattle, which has climbed within four games of the .500 mark, will be trying to hand Cleveland its eight consecutive loss. The Indians, who are 1-7 on their nine-game road trip, have lost 17 of 18 away from home and 20 of 24 overall. The club has not won a series since taking two of three at home against Detroit from July 24-26, going 0-7-1 while being swept four times.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
