Milwaukee @ Colorado preview

Coors Field

Last Meeting ( Aug 14, 2012 ) Milwaukee 6, Colorado 8

The Colorado Rockies try to complete their first series sweep since the end of May when they host the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon in the finale of their three-game set. Colorado has not swept a series since May 28-31, when it outscored Houston 40-23 over four games at Coors Field. The Rockies, whose 23 home wins are the fewest in the National League, have scored 17 runs on 30 hits while winning the first two contests against the Brewers.

Colorado, which lost 10 of 11 at home entering this series, hopes to hand Milwaukee its fifth loss in six games. The Brewers have struggled mightily on the road, dropping 13 of their last 14. They have had little success at Coors Field of late, losing 17 of their last 22 visits. Milwaukee slugger Ryan Braun has gone 11 games without a home run, leaving him stuck on 29 for the season. His last blast came on Aug. 1 against Houston.

TV: 3:10 p.m. ET, FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Mark Rogers (0-1, 4.08 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Guillermo Moscoso (0-1, 8.23)

Rogers will be making his fourth start of the season and the sixth of his career. The 26-year-old settled for a no-decision Friday at Houston despite allowing just one run and three hits while striking out a career-high eight over seven innings. Rogers, who still is seeking his first major-league victory, has surrendered six runs over 12 frames in two road outings.

Moscoso will be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start in place of Drew Pomeranz, who was pushed back to Sunday due to soreness in his chest. The 28-year-old Venezuelan made two starts earlier this season, allowing six runs in each while failing to pitch more than five innings. Moscoso also has made eight relief appearances, five of which were scoreless.

WALK-OFFS

1. Colorado C Wilin Rosario leads all NL rookies with 19 home runs.

2. Rogers was in line for victories in both of his no-decisions, only to see RHP John Axford blow save opportunities.

3. Rockies LF Carlos Gonzalez registered his 12th career four-hit performance and third this year as he collected four singles on Tuesday.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
