Colorado @ Arizona preview

Chase Field

Last Meeting ( Jul 24, 2012 ) Colorado 2, Arizona 6

The Arizona Diamondbacks try to remain perfect on their homestand and complete a three-game sweep Wednesday when they host the Colorado Rockies in the finale of their series. Arizona has won a season-high eight consecutive games at Chase Field, including each of the first five of its 10-game homestand. Joe Saunders guided the Diamondbacks to victory Tuesday, allowing just two runs and three hits over seven innings.

Arizona has scored a total of 58 runs over its last seven games, crossing the plate at least six times in each contest. The Rockies, meanwhile, have lost six of their last seven, allowing at least six runs in six of those games. Michael Cuddyer improved to 7-for-13 lifetime against Saunders after belting a pair of solo shots for his eighth career two-homer performance and second this season.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies LH Jeff Francis (2-2, 5.24 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Trevor Cahill (8-8, 3.77)

Francis is winless in his last three starts, including a no-decision at San Diego on Saturday in which he surrendered five runs and eight hits over five innings. The 31-year-old had allowed three runs or less in each of his previous six outings. Francis is 7-7 with a 4.78 ERA in 20 career starts against the Diamondbacks.

Cahill is coming off a victory over Houston on Saturday in which he yielded four runs and nine hits over 5 1/3 innings. The 24-year-old has struggled early in games this season, allowing a run in the first inning in 16 of his 19 starts. Cahill lasted five frames at Colorado on May 17, surrendering four runs and five hits in a no-decison.

2. Rockies C Wilin Rosario went 0-for-3 in his return to the lineup after missing three games with a sprained ankle.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
