Kylian Mbappe goes for history on Wednesday when Real Madrid hosts a struggling Juventus side in an important Champions League clash.

Mbappe has goals in 11 consecutive matches for club and country, and a goal against the Old Lady would see him tie Cristiano Ronaldo’s record. However, Juventus desperately needs a result, as they’ve gone seven straight without a win.

Real Madrid vs Juventus picks and predictions

My Real Madrid vs Juventus best bet: Both teams to score + Over 3.5 (+190 at Sports Interaction)

Real Madrid are dealing with a bit of an injury crisis on defense, much as they were for periods of last season. And with an El Clásico at the weekend, we could see an interesting team selection from Xabi Alonso on Wednesday.

Whoever he deploys, they’ll be facing a desperate Juventus side. Manager Igor Tudor’s seat is white-hot, with Juve’s 2-0 defeat to Como at the weekend breaking a run of six consecutive draws. That includes a 4-4 thriller against Dortmund and a 2-2 stalemate with Villarreal in their first two matches of the Champions League.

The absence of Gleison Bremer has left a massive hole in their defense, and Juve can’t figure out if they want to play a back three or back four. The latter did little to stop Como’s attack, and with Kylian Mbappe in exceptional form, it may not matter what they decide.

Still, that’s not to say Juventus can’t hurt Madrid’s makeshift back line. They will look to stay compact and hit on the break, with Kenan Yildiz and Chico Conceicao providing the pace and technical ability to get them on the scoresheet.

Madrid notched a 1-0 win against Getafe this weekend, a side that has just nine goals in nine matches, but their previous four matches all saw 4+ goals, with both teams scoring in three of them.

I’m expecting a similar result in this game. The Old Lady will find a goal on the break, but like Inter Milan and Dortmund before them, Los Blancos will score at least three and potentially put an end to Tudor’s time in Turin.

The Over 2.5 with both teams scoring is tempting at plus-odds, but there’s value from taking the extra goal — and I’m not going to pass it up.

Real Madrid vs Juventus same-game parlay (SGP)

Both teams to score: Yes

Over 3.5

Kylian Mbappe anytime goalscorer

Real Madrid first-half moneyline

Mbappe has scored 15 goals in this unbelievable run he’s on, and 18 in total on the campaign. He scored multiple goals in both the first two matches of this competition, and the absence of Bremer will simply make things easier for the French striker.

Juventus have gone four consecutive matches without scoring a goal in the first half. As a result, they’ve trailed at halftime in three of those outings. I’m backing Madrid to find a way through before halftime as they lead at the break.
