Man City's in-form striker Erling Haaland has been deadly so far this season, so I'm counting on him to deliver another top-drawer performance.

City sits five points behind league leaders Liverpool, and they can't afford any missteps against Brentford if they want their bid to retake the Prem crown to be taken seriously. I'm counting on Haaland to hit the net once more, with City on top in what should be a thrilling encounter.

Here are my Brentford v Man City predictions and EPL picks for Sunday, October 5.

Premier League predictions for Brentford vs Man City

My Brentford vs Man City best bet: Erling Haaland anytime goalscorer (-122 at Sports Interaction)

In the eight matches he played since the start of the campaign, Erling Haaland hit the net 11 times and assisted once. The 25-year-old scored in all but one of the Premier League matches Man City competed in this season, the 2-0 home loss to Tottenham.

The Norwegian killer is on a four-game scoring streak, which I believe will continue when City travels South to face Brentford.

The machine-feeling returned for Haaland, who scored twice against Burnley last weekend, then again twice versus Monaco in the Champions League midweek. City manager Pep Guardiola is heavily counting on Haaland's goals to fuel the Citizens' bid for another title, after a dominant Liverpool performance last season.

Since his move to City three years ago, Haaland has played five times against Brentford, scoring three goals. A fact worth noting is that he only penetrated the Bees' defence in two of the games, so he'll want to translate his current form into more efficiency against an opponent who has done its utmost to contain him over the past three years.

I'll take Sports Interaction's -122 for Haaland anytime goalscorer.

Brentford vs Man City same-game parlay (SGP)

Erling Haaland anytime goalscorer

Tijjani Reijnders 1+ assists

Over 2.5 goals

City to have most corners

Brentford to have the most cards

Tijjani Reinjders has been an impactful transfer this season. He already recorded three assists in eight games, and he can contribute against Brentford as well.

I believe there will be goals in this game, so I won't omit the over 2.5 this time. To round up a very nice +2,200 return, I'll also look at corners and cards.

City should lead attacks in this match, so I see them well-positioned to win the battle for most corners. On the other hand, I believe Brentford will be on top for cards. City's players have only been shown eight yellow cards in six games, while Brentford has been shown 11.

Given that they will look to stop a side that's superior in quality, there should be more context for Brentford's players to be carded.
