I thought Fla would be laying at least 6' seeing that they were giving Bama 10 ? I know OK can score but this is not a Big 12 DEE. Not too sure about the over because it will probably take OK a half to adjust to the speed of FLAs speed. Any thoughts?

Another thing to consider. If one of these two QBs win the Heisman the winner notoriously plays bad in his bowl game.

My Prediction:

FLA 38
OKL 62

It would be nice to see 100 pts in the championship game, and finally, the odds are with us. It would also be nice to see the SEC take it again for the third year in a row, But OK Defense is too much for Florida and the BIG 12 is the stronger of the two this year. Once OK gets a couple three and outs from Tebow, its over. Florida, very impressive finish to the year, and probably the hottest team in the nation, but I dont see OK's offense ever being stopped.

GL to ALL - this will be a great game to watch until OK puts up 21 in a row and runs away with it. Jump on that ML!!!

Ok, I'm a diehard OU fan.  and this point prediction of OU whipping up on Florida is just wel....ridiculous.  How long have you been watching football....this year?  I'm being serious.  I love OU.  I've been watching every OU game since 95 (except for those on pay per view or when I was high out of my mind, but in general).  wait, you must be under the influence with this prediction.  I'm torn.  I'm happy with either team winning. I picked Florida in preseason to win it all, and I would like to see my prediction juice true. But OU....well, it's OU nuff said.   Florida isn't like these Big 12 teams that just roll over by the 3rd quarter.  remember OU v OSU when OSU actually put a scare into OU?  Florida is about 40% better than a team like OSU and has a much better Defense.  people here in Oklahoma are running scared thinking about the Tebow Tubesteak special being rammmed down their throats.  I've never seen two evenly matched teams in my life.

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset.  this game kinda reminds me of the 2005 game with Texas and USC.  I remember USC being touted pretty highly then and thinking.....USC might be better...but not 7 points better.

 

I agree with the 1st poster. take the over and hope for the best.

You're telling me I'll get points with OU ... Umm alabama was undefeated by defacto because of the SEC being so bad this year and they still gave Florida fits. This OU team is on a whole other level than Alabama. Lets remember OU's only loss was to texas! Who still might have the best defense in college (numbers are off because of the offenses they had to play) and Texas needed 45 to put OU away. OU is a different team since playin Texas and Kansas. Not to mention since Urban Meyer's tenure at UF the weakness has consistently been the secondary and you think Sam Bradford wont torch them!!! John Parker and Julio Jones almost single handedly beat UF... Give me those OU recievers against UF secondary and your talking points... Lots of em. And OU's defense isn't as bad as ppl think, their offense just gets off the field so fast and therefore opossing offenses have plenty of possesions. Let's look at scores: 21 against TTech, 21 against Mizzou. Plus the offense is good enough to allow the d plenty of time to figure out the opposing offense, perfect example ok st. And lets not forget Ryan Reynolds went down in the third qtr of the texas game, he was the defensive captain and that was the most pts they gave up this year.  And last but not least Mccoy and Harrell are better true qbs than Tebow, although i will give tebow the leadership edge. The only thing making me think twice is Stoops last four BCS games. However this is the best team he's had so I'll take the Dog!!!
OU +3.5 is a joke  Take it to the bank.
 
P.S. You think OU didn't hear that comment about Tebow really wanting to play some Big 12 Defenses... Sounds like bulletin board material to me!

I would say be careful of the over...
Sure these teams have the potential to both put up 40, but in a game like this I doubt you'll see a lot of big plays. Maybe something like Indy and New England last year, where offenses kind of tried to play keep away. Sure this isn't the nfl, but a lot of times when you get two high powered offenses together they try to keep the ball from the other team and manage the game until late. Both teams have plenty of speed so you might see a lot of short crossing routes in the first half. N both of these teams are comfortable running if they have to and taking 4-5 yards here n there. The OU d is faster than Alabama's n Florida's d might b the fastest OU has faced. N don't forget about that OU Pass rush! If I had to pick I would take the over, but much more comfortable getting OU at a field goal +.5
 
FunFact: In some OU game this year I was astonished when I saw an OU d-lineman break his line responsibility and chase down a wide reciever! I wanna say it was the TTech game. These will b two fast defenses!

I think the most evenly matched teams out there today are Florida and Texas.  Oklahoma has gone on an offensive juggernaut to end the season, but against who really?  When they've actually had to play a team with a decent defense, like Texas and TCU, they only managed 35pts.  I see this game going almost like the OU/UT game with Florida's line wearing down OU's lines late in the game.  Plus, Stoops hasn't been exactly a good post-season coach of late (1-4 in the last 5).

Could not agree more. This is NOT Rice Vs Houston , they both do have ATHLETES on defense too!

wow, that's pretty disrespectful calling a 2 TD win for Florida over OU.  I understsand that most of the country doesn't respect OU, but ...wow.  I don't know what to say...other than you can't confuse the rest of the Big 12 with OU.  I would be shocked if the winner won by more than 6 points.  I'm thinking a score within 3-4 points.  Similair to this SB, but with more points.  I'm thinking you haven't seen OU play that much.  There is no way in this world that sportscasters and educated fans in Florida expect to blow out OU.  I'm leaning towards Florida, but let's give both teams their respect.  Florida has to slow down OU's Offense.  OU doesn't necessarily have to slow down Florida. Just food for thought.

Granted, there are a TON of angles to manufacture in for this game, but heres a tid bit of info.

Florida played Top 25 Teams 4 times this year:
#6 Georgia
#25 South Carolina
#20 Florida State
#1 Alabama
Florida averaged 45.3 points against these teams.

Oklahoma played Top 25 Teams
#5 Texas
#16 Kansas
#2 Texas Tech
#12 Oklahoma State
#20 Mizzou
Oklahoma averaged 53.6 points against these teams

I would look at the defenses here, but really, Florida didnt play anybody with that great of offenses.  Oklahoma did.  IMO, Oklahoma has the edge in big games because they played a lot tougher teams in the big games. The SEC was down this year.  The BIG 12 was and IS on the rise.  I'm a huge SEC fan, but I can tell the difference between a weak conference and a tough conference, and the BIG 12 is a much better conference THIS YEAR.  Oklahoma has the edge, I think they win, and they win comfortably.

You can criticize all you want or play Devil's advocate, I dont care.  I am just putting my opinion about the game, not the opinion about how I think Im right and You're wrong.

You guys ragging on OU defense. Compare the offenses each team played and then tell me who honestly has the better defense . Alabama might b the best offensive team UF has played all year and that isn't saying much. UGA turned the ball over way too much and played themselves out of the game against UF.  So exactly where are ppl getting the idea that UF has a great d when the SEC offenses were so horrible this year! And ppl are still forgetting OU has the best pass rush in College Football!
I'm telling you guys this OU team may be the best team to ever be an underdog!

T-Rev I agree with you 100%. The only reason I see OU being the dog is the fact that stoops has done poorly in BCS games, but other than that I honestly believe OU is on a whole different page. UF came out of the SEC by default, it wasn't a great conference this year!

I've also been astonished at so many raving about the Florida defense. Bama clearly showed that the Florida defense is not great. Good but not great. And good against the OK offense means 38+ points.

I know I'll get flamed for saying it, but Bradford is a more accurate QB. And he will have time as JPW did. See I didn't say BETTER QB because obviously Tebow has the intangibles. But Tebow is not that accurate if there is any pressure at all.

I like Oklahoma also, but I may wait for +4 and tease it to 10 and over 65 (after taking 6 off 71).

This is gonna be a shootout, even if both teams try to play keep away. Too much emotion, too many fireworks. This will be fun.

Whichever defense holds the other team to FGs instead of TDs a couple times down the field wins. Could go either way.
