Can someone tell me which is a better laptop?

They seem similar. In fact I think the first 2 might be the same but not sure.

Not overly well versed in pc's to this level to understand all the talk. I know they are all 3GB and 320 as well...so from there Im not sure which has the better processor or even which is a better pc in general.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I was also wondering what the original prices were because if I am only saving a hundred bucks..I might not even buy one.

I briefly looked through them. Don't buy any laptop without at least getting an i3 core. I saw plenty advertised for around 500. Worth the extra money. I also think you can get a better laptop for a little more money than these ones. 500 and you can get a really nice, up to date, laptop. Try paging Lipps in the tech section. He'll dig up something good for around the same money.

I would avoid anything with an AMD processor.

Just curious, why do you say that?  My g/f owns some AMD stock.

I have a friend that is an engineer that works occasional contracts with AMD and has told me several times of the problems that have been involved.  I also have a friend that works with a big IT consultant and has told me some of the same things.  I'm not saying they are a bad product, just relaying that information.

I bought the one straight rom HP...my buddy works in IT and is well versed on pc's and said it was a nice deal. I upgraded to 320 7200 for just 10 bucks..and got the student office powerpoint stuff...word etc.

whats wrong with the AMD? i am sure all people have had problems with everything

I was just relaying what I had heard from people who have dealt more directly with those processors.  You are right, people have problems with all products and manufactures.  Again, I was just passing on what I had been told from people I consider more versed in the area.

just realized I didnt get the one with the AMD...so am I ok with what I got? I dont need ones with bells and whistles.

Just spoke to my buddy and he said I didnt get the AMD..he said he wouldnt recommend them either...so I should be ok?

Should be good.  I know you said you were putting office on it.  You should have plenty of RAM so long as you don't put multiple large programs like ADOBE photo or such.  I have never had an HP but have known several people who have and I think they have all been satisfied.
