There Is Class Warfare Going On In America

Unfortunately, CD only reads and comprehends what he wants because I've known that Rick was in the military since I joined three years ago.

When I was young and dumb I thought that joining a union would be cool and that I would be making an excellent wage and all. Then I went to a union meeting and saw the greed for myself. ( I worked for Alcoa non union plant almost fifteen years) Luckily, the union never obtained enough votes to certify. Our plant took in many workers from a steel plant that closed its doors and moved to China. Some of the guys had good things to say, yet most had enough of the unions bs. I heard tell many stories of how workers would never spend any time at home sleeping because they knew they could saw some logs at work. Then they would be scratching their head trying to figure out how China steel could be sold more competitive to a customer that was accross the street from the steel mill. My brother and his wife worked at the steel mill at the same time and they are not pro union either.

I don't see why cd acts like he has skin in the game when it comes to collective bargaining. He says the pension padding should be dealt with but fails to realize that if the collective bargaining isn't taken away, the union will just try to get those benefits and pensions back as soon as possible.

Like I said..I used to be luke warm to unions...then I started to think things all the way through.

First off when i read posts like this i know the psoter is full of shit and just posting bogus bullshit. Yeah the guys at the steel plant didnt sleep at home because they knew they could sleep at the plant, yeah okay, why not make up some more bullshit. Working at a steel plant, any steel plant union or non union is a tough job, and am pretty sure there wouldnt be any time for guys to sleep, so really stop the fuckin bullshit, just tpo try and make unions look bad. We all get it, you and some of the guys here dont like them, but stop making up lies.

And for the record i have worked with some prettty lazy non union workers in my day. IF YOUR A GOOD WORKER YOUR A GOOD WORKER, DOESNT MATTER IF YOUR IN A UNION OR NOT IN A UNION.  Some of you are this impression once you belong to a union, that means you dont have to do any work at your job, that just plain bullsit.

Now onto collective bargaining bowlslit, its clear you dont know anything about that.  Its not only needed so workers can bargain wages, benefits, its friggin needed to also protect workers safety on the job and from getting fired for no reason other then maybe some boss not liking you. Its needed so management cant just walk all over its workers, in the public sector or private sector. Totally clueless.  Really why some of you ding dongs would want mangement to have all the power is beyond me. I guess some of you love being like slaves to your employer.

You basically got everything wrong in your post

why not pick on the politicians who get paid insane amounts of money and get lifetime benefits after serving only one term in office?  Why always attack the little guy and why would you want your employer to be able to get rid of you for any reason in the world? Do you really want them to have that much power over a person. Hell why dont we just go back to the kings and queens time.

You really want some boss who might just not like you being able to go to the owners and get you fired for whatever reason he can think of, even thou you are a great worker.

Workers need rights, but the way they are being taken away, soon you will get your wish and we will all be slaves to big business.

It really is amazing how some of the guys here just cant see the big picture and figure out thats whats happening.  I keep telling them to take off their big business blinders which they wear for God only knows why, since they arent big business themselves.

Once the unions and the rights of workers in the public sector get broken down, it will make it that much easier for the private sector to do the same thing and then at that point we will all be slaves to big business  I guess this is what some of the guys here want for their kids and grandkids, to let big business totally control them and make them little pawns  Thank God theres guys like me who dont even have kids, but will still get down in the trenches and fight for these guys kids, because God knows these guys wont fight for their own kids.

Hey Rick, you mention the uaw and public unions.  What capacity were you involved with the uaw union and public union {and what public union are we talking about? cops, firefighters, teachers, garbagemen, water dept etc etc}

also what did these union workers do so wrong, that a non union worker would have done so much better? Because i have worked some jobs with some pretty lazy ass non union people.

In my opinion a person is either gonna be a good worker or not a good worker, being in a union or not in a union isnt going to change that fact, but alot of you here think because a guys in a union, that makes him a lousy worker and thats just not true. In fact some of the laziest working people are people who are in management and not a member of any unions and if i can find the article about that i will post it.

Lets start off by saying you don't shit about what stories I have been told. And what incentive do I have to fabricate a story like that? I could give two squirts of piss about another states union battles, except that I know they MOST unions are greedy and do little for the workers they represent other than keep the lazy ones in jobs and pad salaries and benefits. I live in a right to work state so I have no skin in the game just as you do/don't.

Second, really thats the best you can do is worker safety? It turns out pumpkin that I know more about that than you do...I'm an Insurance agent that happens to write workers comp policies. I deal with workplace safety on a regular basis. Let me fill you in on a little government entity called OSHA. Ever heard of them? Corporations have incentives called insurance premiums that skyrocket if they have a bad safety record...in addition to fines and regulation from the OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. So tell me pumpkin....what the hell do you need a union for now that OSHA exists?

You talk about lazy non union workers that you have come accross as I have and everyone has. PUMPKIN....THE DIFFERENCE IS (drum roll please) NON UNION LAZY FUX CAN BE FIRED...UNION LAZY FUX GET TO RETIRE AS LAZY FUX.

Its a shame that you so hypocritically accuse us of not seing the big picture...all the while you are the one with the blinders on. And the majority of the American workforce don't hate our children and grandchildren by overburdening them with our unsustainable pensions and overpriced DMV useless csr's.

your a bigger ass clown then i thought.  Yes i know all about osha and what it does. Thats how little you know about osha, they dont protect workers from every type of safety thing on a job, thats why unions bargain for certain safety things like in the case of firefighters getting 4 men on a rig instead of 2 and 3 men which puts firefighters at extreme risks for injuries and deaths which has been proven by NFPA. So things like that osha doesnt regulate, so really stick to selling insurance policies to little old ladies because you know jack shit. And for the record insurance salesman and insurance companies are some of the biggest slime in this country.  Insurance companies and their salesman are nothing but ripoff artists.

The collective bargaining is needed for tons of reasons, none of which you would understand because a fast talking pencil jockey like you wouldnt know a hard days work if it bit you in the ass.

You have no idea what a union means because you never belonged to one.  Maybe you and your fellow insurance saleman can start your own unions up and call them local scam artist union number #1465 etc etc etc

lmfaoooooooo sorry chief but you are the one who is totally clueless about what OSHA handles and doesnt handle. People working in private companies get fired daily all over the country, because they have no worker protections like unions to help them, so really keep living in your friggin fantasy world. I hope the republicans bust all the unions and you idiots get your wish of no more unions, because then you are going to know what it means to truly get it stuck up your ass by the republicans who then help the rich get richer at your dumb ass expense.  I started out working for Alcoa...one of the biggest corporations in the world...14 years, the only reason I'm not still doing that is because of an off the job injury that left me partially disabled. I know enough about unions to know how they work and how they don't. I had an open mind to attend a union organizing meeting and at least see if they could impress me. I saw how they ran the afore mentioned steel mill to China.

Everybody hates paying insurance premium until the day a pipe breaks in their home or they slide off a snowy road or heaven forbid their house burns to the ground. Criticize all you want, I advise you to knock on wood. It is quite commical that you have no problem paying union dues that give little bang for the buck yet insurance premiums are a scam? If I am a rip off artist why do people that have been with me for years refer friends and relatives to me just to be 'ripped off'?

Since union membership has been on the decline...there must be many ex-union members that have become disinfranchized with the idea.

For the record...Alcoa plants just like the one I worked at DID vote the union in...but later voted to decertify merely 2 years afterwards. Anyone who understands unions knows how difficult it is to decertify them as the hypocritical open ballot to certify but closed ballot to decertify bs.
