In a surprise to no one, Connor McDavid has done his part in this postseason run.
The superstar leads the Edmonton Oilers in points with 26, scoring six goals and supplying 20 helpers. He collected nine points in five games against the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals.
McDavid cashed the Over in points in the final three contests of that series, posting two points in each appearance. The best always step up on the big stage and that’s exactly what the 28-year-old does. After all, he had 11 points in seven games against the Florida Panthers in last year’s Stanley Cup Final.
The three-time Hart Trophy winner had his way with the Cats in the regular season, too. Although he didn’t manage to find the back of the net, McDavid compiled four points in the two meetings.
McDavid has hit the Over in points in three of his last four at Rogers Place in the playoffs and the rocking arena in Oil Country is only going to provide him with even more motivation. Expect McDavid to play at a high level in Game 1.

McDavid is a consistent producer and while he’s only scored six times in the postseason, he is still generating a lot of chances. The veteran is averaging 3.68 shots on target in 16 playoff games, but his total tonight is high against a very solid Panthers team.
Don’t me wrong, McDavid is capable of getting pucks on net. However, he only had two shots on goal versus Florida in the regular season and he’s cashed the Under in SOG in three straight contests, collecting three apiece on net in Games 4 and 5 against Dallas. That’s impressive, but the sportsbooks have him at 3.5, and the Under is offering more value here.
Although the Cats have had numerous guys put up points in their Cup run, Aleksander Barkov has led the way. The Selke Trophy winner has 17 points, scoring six and tallying 11 assists. He's cashed the Over in points in five of his last six playoff games. Barkov collected a pair of helpers in the series clincher against the Carolina Hurricanes.
In fact, there have only been five games in the postseason where the Finnish native has failed to post a point. Barkov is a massive piece of this Florida squad on both ends of the ice, and he'll get in on the offensive action tonight.
