Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Come to McJesus moment

Connor McDavid has been on an absolute tear this season after a bit of a slower start to the campaign. Still, he’s racked up 122 points in 69 games while recording 37 multi-point games in the process. Yes, McDavid has gone Over 1.5 points in more than half of his games this season.

McDavid is currently riding a six-game multi-point streak with 16 points in that span. He’s also recorded at least two points in eight of his last nine games (22 points).

The Edmonton Oilers superstar will be licking his chops as his team is a huge favorite against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday afternoon. The Ducks allowed four goals in each of their last two games to the Kraken, and have surrendered 46 goals in their last 11 contests.

McDavid is chasing the 100-assist mark (currently at 95) and should continue to fill the scoresheet as the Oilers take it to the Ducks today.

Connor McDavid prop: Over 1.5 points (-175 at Bet99)

Prop bet #2: Lightning strikes

The Tampa Bay Lightning didn’t have much draft capital to add big pieces at the trade deadline, but they still landed two veterans in Anthony Duclair and Matt Dumba. Both players went from teams with no hope for the playoffs, to a Lightning squad that is always in contention for the Stanley Cup.

After recording 27 points (16 goals) in 56 games with the lowly San Jose Sharks, Duclair already has nine points (five goals) in eight games with the Lightning. He’s been a great fit on the top line with superstars Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov, while also filling in on the second power-play unit as well.

While Point is over -200 to record a point and Kucherov’s points line is set at 1.5, we’re getting nearly even money for Duclair to get in on the action on Saturday night. It doesn’t hurt that the Lightning are playing a New York Islanders team that has allowed 32 goals during a 2-5-1 stretch.

Anthony Duclair prop: To record a point (-110 at Bet99)

Prop bet #3: Banking on Benn

The Dallas Stars are surging in the Central Division. They have great depth up front, as well as on defense, and that’s resulted in a lot of big seasons from veterans and rookies alike.

Jamie Benn is the Dallas Stars’ longest-tenured player, and the captain is playing like it this season. He has 54 points (18 goals) in 74 games, with most of that damage coming in the latter portion of the season.

Benn is currently riding an eight-game point streak (12 points) and has a point in 12 of his last 13 games (20 points). Tonight the Stars captain will go up against the Seattle Kraken, a team that Benn has feasted against. He has eight points in seven regular-season games against Seattle and picked up six points in seven playoff games against the Kraken last season.

The Kraken may be feeling high and mighty after beating the Ducks twice, but that came after an eight-game losing streak in which they allowed 30 goals. Benn should continue his surge tonight in Seattle.

Jamie Benn prop: To record a point (-130 at Bet99)
