It’s a busy 11-game slate on the ice Tuesday, and there are a number of marquee matchups to pair with our top NHL player props.

An Atlantic Division tape-measuring matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins paves the way for a bout between a pair of favorites in the Stanley Cup odds, as the Carolina Hurricanes visit the Dallas Stars.

The nightcap features the Detroit Red Wings and Edmonton Oilers, and the Oil will be looking to snap out of their 1-2 funk out of the All-Star break as a home favorite in the NHL odds.

Here are our free NHL picks for Tuesday, February 13.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Drouin back with No. 1 line

After a two-game stint down the lineup, Colorado Avalanche winger Jonathan Drouin is expected to return to the No. 1 line with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. It’s a huge boost for his offensive upside. The trio have clicked for a mammoth 6.55 goals per 60 minutes this season, and Drouin drops to a 2.8 mark when he isn’t skating with the two Colorado stars.

Additionally, this should prove to be a favorable matchup for the motivated Avs. Colorado has dropped four straight road games out of the All-Star break, so capitalizing against the inferior Washington Capitals shouldn’t surprise. The Caps rank 27th in Corsi For percentage (46.6%) while allowing the sixth-most expected goals per 60 (2.75) at five-on-five, and they’ve also taken the seventh-most minor penalties at 5-on-5 since the calendar flipped to January.

Finally, I don’t think these Jonathan Drouin odds are pricing in the line swap because Colorado winger Artturi Lehkonen is carrying a higher vig (-125) to mark the scoresheet, and he was the third-wheel on the No. 1 line the past two games.

Jonathan Drouin prop: Over 0.5 points (-105 at Bet99)

Prop bet #2: Fading Tuch

Buffalo Sabres winger Alex Tuch has been skating with Casey Mittelstadt and Jordan Greenway of late, and the trio aren’t generating consistent offense. They’ve clicked for just 2.61 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five, including generating just 0.61 expected goals across the past two games. Tuch has also been relegated to the No. 2 power-play unit.

Drawing the Los Angeles Kings is never easy, either. The Kings rank fourth in Corsi For percentage (55.4%) while allowing the fifth-fewest expected goals (2.35) per 60 at 5-on-5, and of course, LA also boasts a league-best 87.7 penalty-kill percentage.

With all that said, I also value these Alex Tuch odds because he’s simply not scoring consistently. He’s only recorded five goals and five assists across the past 17 games, and he’s missed the scoresheet entirely in 10 of those contests.

Alex Tuch prop: Under 0.5 points (+130 at Bet99)

Prop bet #3: Cruise with Hughes

These Jack Hughes odds are off the mark, and present a perfect buying opportunity. The New Jersey Devils center was trading at a 4.5-shot total for the majority of the season, and he’s cleared this 3.5 total in all three games out of the All-Star break while totalling up 18 shots on 27 attempts.

Additionally, Hughes ranks third in shots (12.99) and eighth in attempts (22.14) per 60 minutes in the league since the beginning of last season. He’s a high-volume shooter in a go-to role, and I also value that he’s projected to line up on the wing again Tuesday. It’ll free him from some defensive responsibilities and should create additional shooting opportunities.

This is a back-to-back spot with travel for the Devils, but that’s more than baked into this price, and the Nashville Predators have only played once out of the break. The Preds allowed 31 shots to the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday, and Hughes drives possession with a high-end 57.1 Corsi For percentage at five-on-five dating back to last season.

Jack Hughes prop: Over 3.5 shots (-140 at Bet99)
