The Florida Panthers have dug themselves too big of a hole by going down 3-0 in this series and the Tampa Bay Lightning are ready to put the nail in the coffin.

Tampa knows how difficult it is to get that most important fourth win in a series and they will try to waste no time ending it.

Moneyline analysis

The Tampa Bay Lightning have taken complete control over this series after their 5-1 victory in Game 3.

If there are any positives to take away for the Florida Panthers it is that they were finally able to score on the power play, but that's not a great silver lining for a team on the brink of elimination. As a team, they had 3.13 expected goals, but they were only able to beat Andrei Vasilevskiy one time for a third straight game.

The 27-year-old Russian is once again showing why he is still the best goaltender in the world. In his last four starts, he has faced a total of 136 shots and has only given up four goals while skating to a 1.00 GAA and .971 save percentage.

Not only has Vasilevskiy been shutting the door on the defensive end, but Tampa’s offense is starting to buzz. The Lightning had 4.62 expected goals and were able to put three past Sergei Bobrovsky — plus two empty-net goals — to secure the win.

The Bolts' two-headed monster — Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos — led the way in Game 3. Kucherov had one goal and three assists while Stamkos added two goals of his own. Kucherov is having another phenomenal postseason as he is leading the team in points with four goals and 11 assists in 10 games.

Carter Verhaeghe dominated in the first round for the Panthers, scoring six goals and tallying six assists, but he has been held pointless in the first three games of this series. The Panthers need guys like Verhaeghe and Jonathan Huberdeau — the latter of whom only has one goal and four assists in the playoffs — to step up their games.

With the way that Vasilevskiy and the Bolts are playing, I don’t see them giving up any ground. They end this series with a sweep tonight.

Prediction: Lightning moneyline (-125 at DraftKings)

Over/Under analysis

Before this series started, I think most people would have said that they expected to see a lot of goal-scoring. In a sense, they'd be correct, but it's been completely one-sided.

The Lightning have outscored the Panthers 11-3 through three games and the Cats have shown no sign that they can get their offense going.

After having an iffy Round 1, Lightning netminder Vasilevskiy has turned it around and has been the best goalie in the postseason and has an 8.1 goals saved above expected (GSAx). Frustration is mounting because everything the Panthers have thrown at Vasilevskiy has been turned away, absolutely destroying their confidence.

The Lightning have been able to find the back of the net, but Sergei Bobrovsky hasn’t really been all that bad and he knows tonight will have to be his best performance yet if his team has a chance to climb back in this series. Bobrovsky has been the least of the Panthers' concerns as he has a .906 save percentage, 2.88 GAA, and 4.3 GSAx.

I like the Under.

Prediction: Under 6 (+100 at DraftKings)

Best bet

The Panthers are completely finished. We've seen this happen before where the Presidents' Trophy winners can’t find a way to get it done in the playoffs. The last team that won the Presidents' Trophy and the Stanley Cup was the 2013 Chicago Blackhawks.

The Lightning have been there and done that after winning back-to-back titles, and they most definitely do not want to give this Panthers team any reason to feel confident. Simply put, the Lightning's best players have stepped up when needed and those of the Panthers have not.

The Panthers have been called the “Comeback Cats” all year long, but I think that might no longer be the case. Tampa knows how to finish, and Vasilevskiy has been especially stellar in elimination games.

Get out the brooms. Tampa finishes the sweep tonight.

Pick: Lightning moneyline (-125 at DraftKings)
