The Edmonton Oilers fired at will vs. the Kings in Round 1, and Adin Hill will feel the same pressure in the series opener.

The Edmonton Oilers visit Sin City to face the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena to open their Round 2 series Tuesday, May 6.

Edmonton won four straight to close out the Los Angeles Kings in Round 1, while Vegas brings a three-game winning streak into tonight’s clash.

Here are my top Oilers vs. Golden Knights props and NHL picks for Game 1.

Best Oilers vs Golden Knights props

  • Red Wings Hill o25.5 saves (-105)
  • Red Wings Theodore o2.5 shots (+140)
  • Red Wings Stone u0.5 points (+200)

Oilers vs Golden Knights player props for May 6

Adin Hill Over 25.5 saves (-105 at BET99)

The Edmonton Oilers finishing with the most shots per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 during Round 1 was no short feat after the Los Angeles Kings allowed the second-fewest shots per game and shots per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 during the regular season.

Edmonton will turn its attention to the Vegas Golden Knights and No. 1 Adin Hill in Round 2, and he settled in to win three consecutive games with a .918 SV% and 1.92 goals saved above expected to advance past the Minnesota Wild.

While the Golden Knights also have a sound shot-suppressing lineup jumping the boards, I believe the Oilers will put more than enough pucks on net for Hill to clear this save total.

Shea Theodore Over 2.5 shots (+140 at BET99)

Shea Theodore has recorded three or more shots in three of his past four games and ranks third on the club in attempts during the playoffs. He jumps the boards with the No. 1 power-play unit and rarely lines up against the opposition’s top scorers.

Theodore also posted a solid 55.9 Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5 while taking 59.5% of his faceoffs in the offensive zone in Round 1, and I value the Edmonton Oilers averaging 5:16 of shorthanded time and allowing a healthy 29.8 shots per game to start the postseason.

Mark Stone Under 0.5 points (+200 at BET99)

This is an incredibly long price for Mark Stone because I anticipate him seeing the majority of his minutes opposite Edmonton Oilers superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

The Edmonton duo have combined for a monster 67.8 Corsi For percentage and 72.8 expected goals percentage at 5-on-5 during the playoffs, and they’ve only allowed seven high-danger scoring chances across a hefty 75:19 of ice time.

Stone is positioned to produce with a top-line gig and role on the No. 1 power-play unit, but Edmonton has screaming statistical correction ahead of its 4.0 goals against per game and 60.0% penalty kill.
