Hurricanes vs Panthers player props for May 26

Carter Verhaeghe anytime goalscorer (+210 at Sports Interaction)

The Florida Panthers have railroaded the Carolina Hurricanes at 5-on-5 in this series, outscoring them by a shocking 12-1 margin. They’ve generated more shots, expected goals, and high-danger chances — and they’ve made them count.

Verhaeghe has led the way in terms of chance generation, pacing all players in 5-on-5 high-danger looks with six. Playoffs included, he's scored 119 goals over the last three seasons. He's proven more than capable of making teams pay when the chances are there — and they are.

With Sam Reinhart injured and Matthew Tkachuk playing well below 100%, Verhaeghe is that much more of a focal point offensively. Don’t be surprised if he's a key contributor in Game 4.

Sam Bennett Over 2.5 shots (-140 at Sports Interaction)

The Hurricanes are annually one of the best shot suppression teams in the NHL. Even so, they’ve yet to find a solution for limiting Sam Bennett’s volume.

He's recorded at least three shots in 11 of the last 13 head-to-head meetings with the Hurricanes, including two of three in this series. He has been all around the net, leading all skaters in shot attempts (19), scoring chances (13), and shots on target (10) through three games.

Bennett has generated shots efficiently at home throughout the playoffs, recording at least six attempts in five of six games thus far. He was magic when hitting that number all season long, clearing 2.5 shots in 44 of 50 games (88%) this year.

Given Bennett has feasted on the Hurricanes for years, and they’re playing their worst hockey of the season, there’s no reason to expect a dip in his shot generation this time around.

Logan Stankoven Over 1.5 shots (-139 at Sports Interaction)

Logan Stankoven has seen his ice time increase each game in this series, playing over 16 for the first time in Game 3. He made the most of his ice, recording seven shot attempts and four scoring chances while picking up a couple of points.

When seeing that kind of workload, Stankoven has been almost automatic for multiple shots. He's averaged 2.7 shots on goal per game and posted a remarkable 76% hit rate when playing at least 15 minutes this season. That’s a mark he’s hit in back-to-back games.

Considering he was one of the only Hurricanes pulling his weight in Game 3, increased usage should continue to be there with their season on the line.
