The Edmonton Oilers will look to avoid a 3-1 deficit in the Stanley Cup Final tonight after suffering an embarrassing loss in Game 3 on Monday.

Connor McDavid was quiet in his last appearance, but my NHL picks are expecting the three-time Hart Trophy winner to respond. I break down the Connor McDavid odds below.

Connor McDavid best bet

Over 1.5 assists (+170 at BET99)

Connor McDavid has been nothing short of outstanding in this Edmonton Oilers playoff run. The superstar has become the third player ever to register 30+ points in the playoffs for the third time, joining Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky. Exclusive company.

The numbers say it all. He’s put up 31 points in 19 games, scoring six goals and supplying 25 helpers. My focus tonight will be on his playmaking. McDavid had a quiet Game 3 with zero points and just two shots on target, but he registered 2+ assists in Games 1 and 2 at home. McDavid even had three helpers in the thrilling Game 2 OT loss.

In fact, he’s finished with Over 1.5 assists in three of his last five games. The 28-year-old has been more of a playmaker than a scorer this year, and that’s still a huge benefit to Edmonton. The reality is he didn’t play his best hockey whatsoever on Monday, and players of this caliber do not stay cold.

McDavid is going to bounce back with authority tonight and lead the way offensively for the Oilers. They need their top guy to perform, and I have zero doubts he will.

Connor McDavid same-game parlay

Connor McDavid Over 1.5 assists

Connor McDavid Over 3.5 shots

Leon Draisaitl Over 1.5 points

McDavid not only leads the Oilers in playoff points, he’s also No. 1 in shots on goal. The centre has averaged 3.78 shots on net so far. While 3.5 is a high total, he’s cashed the Over in two of the last three. McDavid registered seven shots on goal in Game 2 and four in Game 1.

While McDavid had just two in Game 3, I expect him to be aggressive tonight. You can only slow down the best player in the world for so long. McDavid will find his fair share of opportunities in this decisive Game 4.

Over to his co-star, Leon Draisaitl. Arguably the second-best player in the NHL, the German has posted 29 points in 19 games, netting 10 times and tallying 19 assists. Draisaitl logged 106 points in 71 games this season.

The 29-year-old cashed the Over in points in four consecutive contests before the Game 3 stinker, where he didn’t do anything offensively. Just like McDavid, I’m eyeing Draisaitl to make a statement tonight. He’s been red-hot in the postseason. Whether it’s goals, assists, or both, he’ll make his presence felt.
