The Philadelphia Flyers return from a four-day break to host the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night.

The Flyers beat the Blues 6-5 in a shootout on Friday in St. Louis, sending the Blues into a three-game skid.

My Blues vs. Flyers prediction is looking at Philadelphia to get the job done on home ice.

Read on as I break down my NHL picks for Thursday, November 20.

Blues vs Flyers prediction

Blues vs Flyers Best bet: Flyers moneyline (-125)

While it’s hard to beat a team twice in a week, the Philadelphia Flyers have a few advantages tonight.

Perhaps most importantly, both teams are starting their other goalies tonight. Dan Vladar has been far superior to Sam Ersson this season, and Joel Hofer has an .867 save percentage and 4.00 goals-against average.

Furthermore, home-ice advantage is huge for Philadelphia.

The Flyers have been a strong home team this season at 6-3-2, while the St. Louis Blues are just 3-4-1. It’s been a horrible start to the season overall for St. Louis, which is 6-9-5 through 20 games after coming seconds away from winning a playoff round last season.

It’s Hockey Fight Cancer night in Philadelphia, and the Flyers should get a big win to kick off a quick two-game homestand.

Blues vs Flyers same-game parlay

I’m not expecting to be anywhere close to the 11 goals that we saw last Friday. Rick Tocchet will have his team playing structured hockey in order to limit chances against, and Vladar has been stellar between the pipes this season.

Trevor Zegras is another Flyers’ offseason addition who is enjoying his first season in Philadelphia. He had two goals and an assist in St. Louis as his line dominated the Blues, and he’s been making plays all season long.
