The Houston Texans are coming off a miracle Week 10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, and are heavy favorites in their AFC South matchup with the 1-8 Tennessee Titans.

Houston’s defense is legit, and my early Texans vs. Titans predictions have that stop unit stifling rookie Tennessee QB Cam Ward.

Read on for my NFL picks for Sunday, November 16.

Texans vs Titans predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Texans vs Titans spread pick: Texans -7.5

-115 at FanDuel

The Houston Texans are laying a touchdown and a hook, and that opening number justified.

The Texans defense has been dominant on third down and in the red zone, and they now face a Tennessee Titans offense that has been downright stagnant.

Tennessee has scored 20 or more points just three times all season, and its offensive line has allowed prized rookie quarterback Cam Ward to be sacked 38 times.

Even if C.J. Stroud remains out with a concussion, Houston’s defense should control field position and give reserve quarterback Davis Mills manageable drives.

The Texans defense shut out the Titans 26-0 earlier this season and should win by at least eight points in Week 11.

Early Texans vs Titans total pick: Under 38.5

-115 at FanDuel

Oddsmakers set this total at 38.5 for a reason, as points should be tough to find.

Houston’s defense leads the NFL in fewest points allowed, and DeMeco Ryans’ stop unit is built to limit explosive plays while forcing plenty of three-and-outs.

Tennessee’s league-worst offense should accommodate.

With Mills likely under center, expect a somewhat conservative game plan focused on winding the clock and avoiding turnovers in an AFC South game the Texans desperately need to win.
