The Pittsburgh Steelers try to stay in the AFC race when they cross the country for a Sunday Night Football showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10.
Pittsburgh picked up an upset win last Sunday and enters SoFi Stadium as a point spread pup, leaning on its stars to steal a victory in La-La Land.
DK Metcalf needs to have a big night after a downtick in production. I’m buying low on the stud receiver with my best NFL picks and Steelers vs. Chargers predictions on November 9.

Steelers vs Chargers Best bet: DK Metcalf Over 49.5 receiving yards (-114)
While DK Metcalf did the little things to help the Pittsburgh Steelers snap a two-game skid last Sunday (like throwing some mean blocks), the receiver barely showed up in the box score.
He brought in two of four targets for just six yards in the victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Metcalf’s output has been tempered over the past month. Before Sunday’s dud, he posted gains of 50 and 55 yards in losses to the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers.
“Ya’ll may get frustrated with that shit. We don’t. We just trying to win,” Metcalf told reporters.
“I’ve just got to do a better job of getting open and staying open,” he later said.
Part of Metcalf’s problems – at least in recent matchups – is that the Steelers have faced several foes who lean into man-to-man coverage. Not only does the 6-foot-4 WR see a downtick in production versus man, so does Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
This Sunday night, the Steelers take on a Los Angeles Chargers stop unit that ranks Top 10 in many pass defense metrics, anchored in a zone-heavy scheme (second highest zone rate in the NFL).
This is a change of pace for Pittsburgh after taking on Indianapolis, Green Bay, Cleveland and New England – all of which go with man above the league average.
Metcalf’s PFF rating against zone coverage tops the Steelers receiving corps and the last time he took on a defense that goes zone as much as the Bolts, he reeled in all five balls his way for 128 yards – including an 80-yard reception – versus the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.
As for Los Angeles, it has allowed WR1s to post solid numbers this season. According to FTN, top wideouts average 10 targets and 76.1 yards per game against the Chargers.
Metcalf also gets to come indoors at SoFi Stadium, a rare treat for the receiver who has seen his career splits climb when playing on the fast tracks of domed/covered stadiums.
Player projections for Metcalf expect a return to form for the veteran WR, ranging from 56.3 yards to a high of 64 yards – well beyond his current prop total.
Despite a down year, Metcalf has still hit 50 yards or more in five of his eight outings in 2025.
Steelers vs Chargers SNF same-game parlay
Metcalf’s prop total is sliding after a quiet Week 9. Projections for Week 10 offer a valuable buyback spot on the Steelers’ top WR.
Justin Herbert has to make plays with his legs due to a decimated offensive line and a Pittsburgh pass rush coming for his head.
Jaylen Warren can score on the ground and through the air. He found the end zone twice last Sunday.

Steelers vs Chargers betting trend to know
SoFi Stadium will be overrun with Black and Yellow on Sunday Night Football. The lack of a home-field advantage has led the Chargers to a 17-25-1 ATS record (41%) when laying a field goal or more at home since moving to L.A. in 2017. Find more NFL betting trends for Steelers vs. Chargers.
