The Jets are looking to follow up on an impressive Week 1 victory, and they're in good position to cover at home as an underdog against a reeling Green Bay Packers team in Week 2.

The New York Jets will look to follow up a Week 1 win as they head home to host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.

New York is a 3.5-point underdog on the early line, but I like it to cover the spread as a home dog in my early Packers vs. Jets predictions.

Early Packers vs Jets spread pick: Jets +3.5

Kalshi probability: 51%

There's no denying it: the New York Jets looked downright competent in Week 1. Breece Hall ran for 102 yards, Geno Smith was efficient in the passing game, and the defense held the Tennessee Titans to -0.28 EPA per pass.

The Jets play at home in Week 2 against a Green Bay Packers team that suffered a monumental collapse against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Regardless, the Packers come in as the favorite and are a huge step up in difficulty for New York, as Jordan Love will challenge the Jets defense in ways Cam Ward simply couldn't.

But the Jets truly look to have improved, and they have no obvious holes on defense. At home, I like New York to cover as long as the spread stays above a field goal.

Early Packers vs Jets total pick: Under 44.5

Kalshi probability: 50%

While I praised their defense, I'm not entirely sold on the Jets offense maintaining the success it found on Sunday. This is a team that averaged just 17.6 ppg last year, and while Smith is an upgrade at quarterback, I'm unconvinced that he's going to improve the situation all that much at age 35.

Love was under constant pressure in Week 1, and the Jets defense will pile on after picking up three sacks against the Titans. The Packers only totaled 66 yards on the ground against the Vikings, and if their offense remains that one-dimensional, they'll struggle to score points.

Without much confidence in either offense, I'm taking the Under at totals down to 42.5.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
