Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings will return home from Europe to host a Philadelphia Eagles team that has lost two straight on Sunday afternoon.

He has picked up his production over the past couple weeks, and I’m expecting him to collect plenty of catches in my Justin Jefferson odds & prop picks below.

Keep reading to see why I like Jefferson to hit his receptions total in my free NFL picks for Sunday, October 19.

Justin Jefferson best bet: Over 5.5 receptions (-158 at FanDuel)

After a relatively slow start to the season, Jefferson came to life during the Minnesota Vikings' two-game European road trip. Jefferson was targeted 11 times in each of those games, catching a total of 17 balls for 249 yards.

That’s the kind of production we’ve come to expect from Jefferson. In the 2024 season, the former LSU wideout caught six or more balls in 12 games last year, making it the expectation rather than the exception.

Jefferson’s early struggles were tied to the play of JJ McCarthy, as the second-year quarterback never really found his groove outside of one good quarter against the Chicago Bears.

With Carson Wentz at the helm, the Vikings have been moving the ball far more effectively through the air, has he has completed 69% of his passes for 253 yards per game.

Opponents have been able to throw the ball a bit against the Eagles, averaging 208.5 yards per game and 10.5 yards per completion. With Wentz and Jefferson establishing a connection over the past two weeks, I’m expecting more of the same on Sunday, with Jefferson getting enough catches to hit his Over.

If Jefferson gets the number of targets he’s been receiving lately, then the yardage will follow and a score is likely. A big day for the star wide receiver will also be a great sign for the Vikings, who have every chance to win if their offense clicks against the Eagles.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
