The New York Giants and Chicago Bears face off this week with the home team level on wins with the Packers and Lions at the top of the NFC North. Meanwhile, the Giants are 2-7 while dealing with bad injury luck.

My early Giants vs. Bears predictions and NFL picks believe that the Bears will cover the spread when kickoff comes your way at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 9 on FOX.

Giants vs Bears predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Giants vs Bears spread pick: Bears -3.5

With injuries to Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo, there's going to be a limit to what this New York Giants offense can achieve. But it has to be said that Jaxson Dart is showing real glimpses of talent that can give fans optimism for the future.

However, in the here and now, this is not a great football team. The Giants rank in the Bottom 10 team in both offensive and defensive DVOA. They’ve covered the spread just four times from nine tries this season and face a tricky road trip here.

The Chicago Bears are 2-1 ATS at home, and 1-0 in their only game as a home favorite. This Bears team has been underrated by the sportsbooks over the past six weeks, covering the spread five times. Even this past Sunday, despite making some mistakes, they managed to cover vs. Cincinnati.

Ben Johnson is slowly developing this offense in his image, and they were explosive this past weekend, with 576 offensive yards.

It almost doesn’t matter which players are in the scheme, he can make it work, as shown with running back Kyle Monangai rushing for 176 yards and Colston Loveland turning six catches into 118 yards and two scores in the win over the Bengals.

This team is improving quickly, and they’re finding ways to win and to cover. Back them to do it again here.

Early Giants vs Bears total pick: Over 48.5

-110 at FanDuel

Only three teams have given up more yards per game than the Giants. With the Bears fresh from putting 47 points on the scoreboard against the Bengals, they should be confident in another big performance.

The Over is 5-2-1 across all Bears games this season, with their past two games finishing Over the total points line.

The Giants might have lost three games on the spin, but they’ve looked better with Jaxson Dart under center, scoring 24, 20, and 32 points in their previous three games. Sadly, their defense cannot stop giving up points, and they’ve allowed 30 or more points in their past four games.

The Over hasn’t just been covered but smashed in New York's past four games, with the line being exceeded by a minimum of 10 points in each contest.

This could become a shootout.
