Buccaneers vs Rams Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for Sunday Night Football Week 12

After a less-than-impressive win over the Seahawks, the Rams should struggle against Baker Mayfield & Co. in Week 12.

Sunday Night Football is a coast-to-coast affair with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heading to the left side of the country to visit the Los Angeles Rams on November 23.

Los Angeles staked its claim as a top contender in the conference with a win over rival Seattle on Sunday, while Tampa Bay is trying to stay on pace after losing back-to-back games.

My Buccaneers vs. Rams predictions and NFL picks expect the Bucs to keep this matchup close.

Buccaneers vs Rams predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early SNF spread pick: Buccaneers +6.5

-102 at FanDuel

This spread opened just shy of the key number of a touchdown, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ injury updates will dictate where this line moves later in the week.

Tampa Bay got some positive updates on RB Bucky Irving and WR Chris Godwin toward the end of last week, with both skill players returning to practice in a limited capacity.

That trends well heading toward SNF, and the Bucs desperately need those bodies back as their spot atop the NFC South slips.

We're seeing Los Angeles Rams -6.5 become expensive with the vig on the favorite rising, indicating a move to a touchdown, which should spark some buyback on the Buccaneers. While L.A.’s win over Seattle was important, it wasn’t all that impressive.

Los Angeles allowed 414 yards, 26 first downs, and a 7-for-16 success rate on third down conversions to the Seahawks. Yet, turnovers and red-zone whiffs plagued Sam Darnold & Co. and L.A. escaped with a 21-19 win after Seattle missed a game-winning FG with time running out.

Baker Mayfield doesn’t get enough credit for keeping this Tampa offense on track, despite those missing weapons. He had the Bucs going blow-for-blow with Buffalo on Sunday before running out of ammo in the fourth quarter.

Early SNF total pick: Over 49.5

-110 at FanDuel

Much like the spread, the total will adjust to the Bucs’ injury updates.

Should Irving and Godwin participate in full practices this week, I could see this number climbing to 50.5 and potentially crossing through the key number of 51 points.

Even without those guys in action, the Buccaneers still amassed 32 points, 367 yards, and 21 first downs vs. the Bills on the weekend.

Tampa Bay’s defense is sound against the run but has been picked apart by opposing passers. Josh Allen threw for three touchdowns and more than 300 yards vs. the Bucs in Week 11, and Matt Stafford and his talented receiving corps present even more pop.

Los Angeles is a Top 5 air attack and sits fourth in “big plays” of 20 yards or more, while Tampa has given up the third most completions of 20+ so far this season.

Add in the fact that this Sunday Night Football matchup is indoors on the fast track of SoFi Stadium, and I love the potential for points.
