Where Is College GameDay in Week 4? Oklahoma-Georgia Favored to Host ESPN Show

ESPN has not announced where College GameDay will be for Week 4 on Saturday, Sept. 26, but Oklahoma at Georgia is the current favorite to host the weekly college football show at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. That matchup features a 60% probability at Kalshi to host College GameDay in Week 4, followed by Los Angeles (26%) and Baton Rouge, La. (13%) in a loaded week of heavyweight conference matchups.

Will College GameDay be at Oklahoma vs. Georgia?

On paper, this is the type of matchup that ESPN covets for its GameDay plans. Georgia enters the season ranked No. 3 in the AP Top 25, while Oklahoma sits at No. 10 and will be making its first-ever trip to Athens. It's only the second meeting between these newly minted conference foes after Georgia's 54-48 double-overtime win in the 2018 Rose Bowl.

The biggest argument against Athens has little to do with the matchup itself. ESPN has already confirmed Clemson-LSU for Week 1, Ohio State-Texas for Week 2, and LSU-Ole Miss for Week 3. Oklahoma-Georgia would give College GameDay four consecutive matchups involving an SEC team to open the season.

It's also no guarantee that this will be a top-10 showdown, as Oklahoma still has to survive a road tilt against No. 16 Michigan before hosting New Mexico a week later. Georgia should have little issue with Tennessee State and Western Kentucky before facing Arkansas, so if both teams survive and ESPN doesn't mind another SEC clash, pencil this one in for the GameDay treatment.

College GameDay history at Georgia

Athens is familiar territory for College GameDay, as ESPN made its 11th all-time visit to Georgia's campus last season for the Bulldogs' 43-35 win over Ole Miss. The show has been a good-luck charm for Georgia, which has won the last five times GameDay was in town.

Where else could College GameDay be in Week 4?

Oregon at USC

If ESPN wants to leave SEC country, Oregon-USC is the clear alternative in an otherwise packed Week 4 slate. Oregon begins the season ranked No. 2, while No. 14 USC is already 1-0 after beating San Jose State in a 42-26 win that wasn't as close as the final score suggests. Jayden Maiava threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns as the Trojans built a 35-3 lead before San Jose State made the final score more respectable in the fourth quarter.

Oregon opens against Boise State before visiting Oklahoma State and hosting Portland State, while USC faces Fresno State and Louisiana before traveling to Rutgers in Week 3. If the Ducks and Trojans both arrive unbeaten, Los Angeles would give ESPN a potential Top-15 matchup, Oregon's Big Ten opener, and a natural opportunity to take GameDay west after three straight confirmed shows involving SEC programs.

Texas A&M at LSU

Texas A&M-LSU could have just as much national significance as the other two matchups with both teams effectively assured top-10 spots if they win out. But there's a major roadblock to Baton Rouge hosting in Week 4: College GameDay is already headed to LSU in Week 1, and the Tigers will be featured again at Ole Miss in Week 3.

Choosing Texas A&M-LSU would send the show back to Baton Rouge just 21 days after Clemson-LSU and put the Tigers on College GameDay in three of the first four weeks. There is precedent for ESPN to double-dip within the same season, but that much LSU exposure in such a short window could work against an otherwise excellent matchup.

What could change the Week 4 College GameDay race?

The current probabilities could look very different once the top contenders on the board start facing meaningful tests. Oklahoma's Sept. 12 trip to Michigan looks like the toughest test for the favorites in this market, while Georgia's first true road test against Arkansas could complicate matters, too.

Oregon has a tricky history against Boise State and has to survive a trip to Oklahoma State before heading to Los Angeles to open Big Ten play against USC. Texas A&M should have a relatively safe path to a perfect record through Week 3, but LSU faces both Clemson and Ole Miss before hosting the Aggies in Week 4. If that happens, don't be surprised to see the market take a dramatic turn in favor of what could be a top-five showdown.

There are other games worth keeping an eye on, too. Wisconsin opens against No. 4 Notre Dame before eventually visiting No. 18 Penn State in Week 4, while No. 5 Texas travels to No. 20 Tennessee that same Saturday. September is always full of surprises, and even one or two upsets could flip this market over in the coming weeks.

Has College GameDay announced its Week 4 location?

No. ESPN has not officially announced its Week 4 College GameDay location for Saturday, Sept. 26.

The first three destinations are already set: LSU in Week 1, Texas in Week 2, and Ole Miss in Week 3. ESPN announced the Oxford trip on Aug. 21, nearly a month before LSU and Ole Miss play, so another early announcement for Week 4 is possible. We'll update this page as soon as the destination becomes official.
