For most teams, Week 13 is the final chance to make a mark on the regular season this year. That’s highlighted by one huge game with national title implications in Ohio State vs. Michigan that will be featured in my same-game parlay pick
But first, for my main parlay, I’m looking at two games that probably won’t get much attention outside of the Northeast — unless you’re betting on the college football odds — as well as a huge test for another College Football Playoff contender that now has to play without its biggest star.
Keep reading to see where I’m putting my money in my free college football picks for Week 13.

Best college football parlay Week 13
It’s a rare day when I’d pick the Massachusetts Minutemen to win straight up against any FBS opponent. But they’re playing one of the other schools that struggles to even marginally compete at this level in the Connecticut Huskies.
These schools have won just five games total this year, with only three of those coming against FBS opponents. The Huskies have been horrific on offense, and the Minutemen have been even worse on defense. But the one competent unit here is the UMass offense, which has at least one notable weapon in running back Kayron Lynch Adams. I’m surprised Massachusetts is a home dog, and I’m taking them to win outright.
The Syracuse Orange started 4-0, but now need a win in their final game to become bowl eligible. Syracuse just fired head coach Dino Babers, and enters its final regular season game as a slight favorite over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest has lost seven of eight, and like Syracuse, has struggled to remain competitive against most ACC opponents. The Demon Deacons have been especially shaky on offense, scoring just 19.3 points per game — a scary number against a Syracuse defense that has been strong when it can get some rest between series. With the Orange at home, I think they win and cover the modest spread.
Finally, the Florida State Seminoles may have had their national title hopes derailed last week due to the injury to starting quarterback Jordan Travis, who had thrown for 20 touchdowns and run for seven more while throwing just two interceptions this year. The Seminoles will be without Travis for the rest of the season, starting with their regular season finale against the rival Florida Gators.
But Florida State is far from a one-man team. The Seminoles are loaded with offensive weapons, and their defense is holding opponents to just 16.9 points per game. While the loss of Travis will be a challenge for Florida State, it should still be able to beat a struggling Florida team by at least a touchdown to cover the spread.

I can’t ignore the game of the week — maybe the game of the regular season — can I? With all due respect to the Iowa Hawkeyes, the matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines is the de facto Big Ten championship game, and the winner will be all but assured a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Michigan comes into the game as a 3.5-point favorite at home. That’s a tough number when we’re dealing with two teams that have been absolutely ferocious on defense. Michigan gives up just 235.5 yards and nine points per game — both the fewest in the nation — but Ohio State is third in yardage allowed (252.9) and second in average points allowed (9.3).
While these teams aren’t as dynamic offensively, both have scored plenty of points and boast lots of weapons on the ground and in the air. There’s very little to separate these teams, but I like the Wolverines’ offense just a little bit better, especially on the ground. Considering this should be a close game, it also matters to me that Michigan is at home. I don’t like playing the spread, but I’m taking Michigan to win outright.
Speaking of that Wolverines ground attack, it seems all but certain that Blake Corum will be a huge part of the Michigan gameplan this week. He has been all year long, and in the team’s toughest matchup yet, it’s likely they’ll lean on him for tough yards and key plays. Corum has 20 touchdowns on the year, and I’m predicting he’ll score at some point during this game as well.
On the other hand, I’m betting against Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who has been excellent for the Wolverines all year. McCarthy hasn’t faced a defense that looks anything like Ohio State’s, which has allowed the lowest quarterback rating in the country while also holding opponents to a measly 4.7 yards per attempt.
In fact, even though the Buckeyes are usually playing from ahead, opposing quarterbacks have averaged just 144.4 yards per game through the air this year. McCarthy may be able to beat that, but I don’t think he’ll hit his passing yardage prop. I’m taking the Under at 201.5 yards.
