All the hype surrounding Arch Manning is warranted, and Andrew Caley expects the sophomore pivot to have a successful season passing in Austin.

Star power in college football looks through the roof in 2025.

The Arch Manning era is set to get underway at Texas, while wideouts Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams are primed to set the college football world on fire.

Sportsbooks are starting to let us bet on them to hit some big season-long milestones. I’ve found a trio of futures bets for some of college football’s biggest stars in 2025.

Here are my favorite college football picks for these milestones futures markets.

Three Betting Milestones to Hit Before the 2025 Season Starts

  • Texas Manning o3000.5 passing yards (-114)
  • Alabama Williams o1050.5 receiving yards (-114)
  • Notre Dame Love to score 1+ rushing TD in every regular season game (+1100)

TexasArch Manning Over 3000.5 passing yards (-114 at FanDuel)

There is no containing the Arch Manning hype. The combination of his famous football name and the expectations of Texas in 2025 has made sure of that.

The Longhorns enter the season as the No. 1-ranked team in the country and the +550 favorites to win the national championship. That said, the hype has almost become so much that it feels a little like people are starting to fade Arch, and dare I say, create a little value.

Arch waited for two seasons at Texas for a reason, as he wanted to play in and learn Steve Sarkisian’s offense. We saw Quinn Ewers excel in this offense the last two seasons, throwing for 3,479 and 3,472 yards each of the last two seasons and averaging 230 passing yards per game last season.

Manning is a better athlete than Ewers, and most would probably agree that he is expected to be a superior passer as well. Barring any injury, Manning eclipsing 3,000 yards looks inevitable.

Alabama Ryan Williams Over 1050.5 receiving yards (-114 at FanDuel)

Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith is the consensus best wide receiver — and maybe player — in college football heading into 2025.

However, Alabama WR Ryan Williams isn’t far behind.

Despite some inconsistent quarterback play from Jalen Milroe last season, Williams boasted 865 yards receiving and 10 total touchdowns last year, and he racked up those yards on just 48 receptions.

Williams should see a significant bump in Year 2. Head coach Kalen DeBoer has had a full offseason to implement his system, which produced multiple 1,000-yard receivers in his last two seasons at Washington.

Rome Odunze, who was Michael Penix Jr.’s top target there, posted 2,828 receiving yards across his final two seasons in Seattle, and Williams is arguably even more talented.

The other difference this year will be Ty Simpson as Alabama’s starting quarterback. The redshirt junior has patiently waited for his shot, and now it’s here. He’s also a much more passing-forward signal caller compared to Milroe, meaning Williams could see way more targets and be in for a monster year.

Notre Dame Jeremiyah Love to score 1+ rushing TD in every regular season game (+1100 at FanDuel)

Jeremiyah Love already accomplished this feat last season when he rushed for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns, and he could be in for an even bigger year in 2025.

Some draft scouts are already calling Love a better draft prospect than Ashton Jeanty was a season ago.

Love is a do-it-all running back who will be the bell cow in the Notre Dame backfield this season. The Fighting Irish star has the speed to bust for a touchdown at any time, and he is strong enough to power through defenders near the goal line.

It will also help that Love will be playing behind an offensive line featuring an abundance of future NFL talent, which should open big holes for him all season long.

Love will be the engine that makes the Irish offense churn this season, so finding paydirt once a game is a reasonable expectation.

A Journalism School grad from Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI, Andrew previously worked at The Chronicle Herald and Star Metro, but knew in his heart that his future lay in sports. He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS. These days Andrew's betting expertise is focused on his favorite teams; the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors. He's also an avid college football fan and bettor. The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
