Week 5 brings a plethora of beautiful NCAAF games, and you know what that means — time for more college football player props.

Will Jeremiyah Love continue to eat as one of the most productive backs in the country?

I answer that question and more in my Week 5 player props and college football picks for the afternoon slate on Saturday, September 27.

Best college football player props for Week 5

  • UCLA Love o97.5 rushing yards (-114)
  • UCLA Rutherford o34.5 receiving yards (-114)
  • UCLA Staley o48.5 receiving yards (-114)

Prop bet #1: Jeremiyah Love Over 97.5 rushing yards

-114 at FanDuel

Jeremiyah Love is the most talented running back in the country. He’s primed for a monster season with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, accounting for 304 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns in his last two games alone.

There’s no reason to expect Love to slow down in a Week 5 matchup in Fayetteville against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Hawgs have struggled mightily at slowing down opposing ground games, ranking 127th in EPA per rush and 132nd in rushing success rate allowed.

Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock appears to be entrusting Love with a heavy workload this season, as Love is averaging 23 touches over the last two games. That’s a wise game plan given his talent level, and it should bear fruit in a favorable matchup.

This game is expected to shoot out with a total of 64.5. There should be plenty of offensive success, and Love is the best offensive weapon of them all. Here’s banking on another productive day at the office.

  • Matchup: Notre Dame vs. Arkansas

  • Location: Razorback Stadium

Prop bet #2: Malik Rutherford Over 34.5 receiving yards

-114 at FanDuel

It’s been a slow start to the season for Malik Rutherford. After contributing 65 receptions for 702 yards and three scores a season ago, he’s been limited to 11 receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown in 2025.

That’s excusable as he’s been battling an injury to start the year, but the production will trend upward the later the season goes along.

Rutherford tied for the team lead in pass snaps played a week ago, so he appears to be “full-go”. He went Over 34.5 receiving yards in six straight contests to conclude 2024, and there’s no reason to expect decreased production this time around — especially with former teammate Eric Singleton now lacing up for Auburn.

Rutherford, a speed demon, averaged 2.4 yards per route run a season ago. He’s at 2.7 this year, so the injury hasn’t slowed him down — he just hasn’t been needed as much. I’m choosing to buy low on a proven playmaker in a quality offense.

  • Matchup: Georgia Tech vs. Wake Forest

  • Location: Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium
  • TV: ESPN

Prop bet #3: Braylon Staley Over 48.5 receiving yards

-114 at FanDuel

The Tennessee Volunteers were supposed to fall off a cliff offensively this season, according to some talking heads, due to their quarterback leaving them mid-offseason.

Combine that with a new-look offensive line and running back room, and declining overall numbers in 2024, and the wheels were supposed to come off in 2025.

That’s been far from the case. The Vols are humming offensively, scoring 53.5 ppg while averaging 554 total yards per game on 7.1 ypp. Quarterback implant Joey Aguilar is leading the way, tossing 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Slot man Braylon Staley is tied for the team lead with 31 targets. The redshirt freshman has turned that into 21 receptions for 281 yards and two scores, and it appears as though he’s in for a productive season — and career — for the Vols.

Staley’s Week 5 receiving yardage prop of 48.5 is too low. He’s averaging 70.1 yards per game and has recorded 50+ yards in all three games against FBS opponents.

There’s expected to be a lot of scoring in Starkesville with a total of 63.5. Staley will be needed if the Vols are to have success on the road against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, so I’ll buy his Over at what is a significant discount.

  • Matchup: Tennessee vs. Mississippi State

  • Location: Davis Wade Stadium
  • TV: SEC Network
