Two undefeated top 10 teams will clash in the Big 10 on Saturday night when the Oregon Ducks travel to Happy Valley to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Both offenses are loaded with talent, but this will be their first test this season against a big-time defense.

Here are my favorite top three player prop bets for this game in my Oregon vs. Penn State college football picks for Saturday, September 27.

Oregon vs Penn State props for Week 5

  • Penn State Drew Allar Under 1.5 passing touchdowns (-136)
  • Penn State Kaytron Allen Over 68.5 rushing yards (-114)
  • Oregon Gary Bryant Over 2.5 receptions (-128)

Prop bet #1: Drew Allar Under 1.5 passing touchdowns

-136 at FanDuel

Senior quarterback Drew Allar has not looked great through the first three games of the season, and he clearly misses his favorite target, Tyler Warren. Despite playing Nevada, FIU, and Villanova, he only has four touchdown passes.

Last year against the Oregon Ducks in the Big 10 championship game, Allar did throw for three touchdowns. But that was an outlier on the season, as he threw for three total touchdowns in the three playoff games and had no touchdown passes against Ohio State in the regular season.

The Ducks defense has yet to allow a single passing touchdown this season through four games. Granted they have not played the best passing attacks out there, but the Penn State passing game is not lighting it up themselves.

The Penn State Nittany Lions will likely rely on the run game with their two-headed monster of a backfield, especially when they get close to the redzone. I would be surprised to see Allar find multiple touchdown passes against this defense.

Prop bet #2: Kaytron Allen Over 68.5 rushing yards

-114 at FanDuel

The Penn State backfield is loaded with talent between Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen. While Singleton typically gets a little more work, Allen has been more efficient and the bigger home run hitter.

Last year against the Ducks, Allen ran for 124 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Thus far this season, he is averaging 8.0 yards per attempt and 91.0 yards per game. Allen may not see a ton of carries in this contest, but he doesn’t need a lot to rack up the yards.

The Ducks defense has been fantastic against the pass this season, but teams have had some success in the run game. They have allowed 108.8 rushing yards per game despite winning all their games in blowouts.

Allen and Singleton are both going to get their carries, but I like the chances of Allen breaking out a long one at some point in this contest and getting enough redzone carries to hit his Over here.

Prop bet #3: Gary Bryant Over 2.5 receptions

-128 at FanDuel

Sixth year senior wideout Gary Bryant has been a nice addition to Dante Moore’s passing attack after missing most of last season. Bryant had 30 catches for 442 yards two years ago for the Ducks after transferring over from USC.

This year, Bryant was shut out against Northwestern but had at least three catches in each of the other three games. He is very much in the mix with Malik Benson and Dakorien Moore this season in terms of targets.

The Penn State defense is very good, but they have yet to be tested this season. Moore and the Ducks will let it fly against the Nittany Lions and Bryant should be involved enough to rack up at least three catches.
