CFB Week 9 preview with Andrew Caley and Douglas Farmer

Stanford vs Miami best bet

Stanford +30.5 (-115 at FanDuel)

Miami will need to contend with Stanford's rushing attack; the run game did the 'Canes in against Louisville, with Isaac Brown rushing for 113 yards on 15 carries. Stanford is also third in the conference in time of possession; if it can sustain a few drives and come away with touchdowns, the Cardinal should be able to stay within earshot of the Hurricanes.

Texas A&M vs LSU best bet

Texas A&M -2.5 (-115 at FanDuel)

The Aggies have one of the country’s most effective rushing attacks, not only the weaker piece of the Tigers’ defense but also the piece that is more likely to allow down-to-down successes. Texas A&M should be able to run with enough success to bludgeon LSU into submission.

Michigan vs Michigan State best bet

Bryce Underwood Over 16.5 rushing yards (-114 at FanDuel)

The Spartans also rank in the bottom half of the country in team sacks. If they are unable to get sacks on Underwood, then he shouldn't need too many runs to easily hit this number. There will be plenty of pass plays for the Wolverines in this game, and I think he scrambles a few times to get this — even if he gets little-to-no designed runs.

Tennessee vs Kentucky best bet

Tennessee -8.5 (-105 at FanDuel)

I don’t expect Kentucky to do well in this game. Texas was a good matchup for the Wildcats — a team that isn’t strong offensively, won’t take many risks, and doesn’t mind a smash-mouth, defensive kind of game... and that’s not what Tennessee will bring to the table.

Colorado vs Utah best bet

Colorado +13.5 (-112 at FanDuel)

The biggest factor heading into this game is the status of Utah quarterback Devon Dampier. If he does play, he’ll be at less than 100% with an ankle injury. There are few players as integral to their team’s success as Dampier, and therefore, I can’t comfortably say that the Utes will win this game by two scores.
