CFB Week 6 preview with Andrew Caley and Douglas Farmer

Texas Tech vs Houston best bet

Texas Tech -11.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

There’s simply no comparison between these two offenses. The Cougars have put up decent numbers against weak competition, but were held to 27 points by both Oregon State and Stephen F. Austin.  Meanwhile, the Red Raiders are averaging 573 yards and 52 points per game. Texas Tech will find ways to score, while the Cougars will struggle to move the ball against quality opposition.

UNLV vs Wyoming best bet

Wyoming +3.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

UNLV hasn't beaten anybody of note and is coming off a double-bye. Plus, there could be some chilly temperatures and wind, that doesn't scream UNLV wide-open offense; it favors Wyoming.

Miami vs Florida State best bet

Thomas Castellanos Over 47.5 rushing yards (-114 at FanDuel)

Castellanos has cleared this prop in all three FBS games this season. Facing the aggressive Hurricanes’ defensive front should not deter this bet now, especially since Miami is more susceptible against the rush than it is against the pass.

Minnesota vs Ohio State best bet

Under 44.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

Minnesota’s defense has been formidable, giving up just 65.5 rushing yards and 164.5 passing yards per game while forcing six turnovers. Ohio State’s defense has been nearly impenetrable this season, allowing only two touchdowns and 132 passing yards per game.

Colorado vs TCU best bet

Under 57.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

If you’ve been keeping up with the Buffs, you know scoring is coming at a premium in their games, and they’ve had just one total even get placed in the 50-point range (vs. Delaware... at exactly 50 points).

Duke vs California best bet

Jacob De Jesus Over 51.5 receiving yards (-114 at FanDuel)

Cal true freshman QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele has been quite the revelation this season, throwing for 248.4 yards per game, as the Golden Bears rank 24th in pass rate. Slot receiver Jacob De Jesus has been his go-to option, leading the team in targets (44) and receptions (28) — as Duke has been vulnerable against slot receivers this season, De Jesus is poised to capitalize as Cal’s most dangerous playmaker.
