Tulsa comes in as a slight home favorite after pulling off a massive road upset over Army as a 9.5-point underdog last season as we break down the best plays on the moneyline, total, and a three-leg same-game parlay.

Last season, Tulsa shocked Army 26-25 as a 9.5-point road underdog.

Fast forward to Friday’s rematch at H.A. Chapman Stadium (8:30 p.m. ET), and the Golden Hurricane are 1.5-point home favorites with an Over/Under of 54.5. I’m backing Tulsa to repeat and betting on a controlled, low-scoring affair in my Army vs. Tulsa prediction.

 TOP PICK
Who will win Army vs Tulsa: Tulsa moneyline

As long as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane moneyline stays below 60%, I'm in.

Tulsa owns the best win on either team's resume, having upset Oklahoma State in Week 1. The Cowboys rank 27th in ESPN analyst Bill Connelly's SP+ ratings. Tulsa also upset the Army Black Knights 26-25 as a 9.5-point road underdog last season.

According to Connelly, Tulsa ranked 23rd in returning production entering this season, compared to Army at 74th. That gives the Golden Hurricane a continuity advantage against a scheme they're already familiar with.

Army also ranks 131st in yards per rush allowed against FBS opponents, while Tulsa is 4-0 when averaging at least 4.0 yards per carry.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Tulsa has a preparation advantage, as this will be its third consecutive game against a Top-5 team in rushing play percentage, having faced Navy and Rice over the past two weeks.

Army vs Tulsa Over/Under pick: Under 54.5

I lean toward the Under 54.5, and I'd also play it at 55.5, especially because 55 is a key number for college football totals.

Army plays at the slowest pace in the country, while Tulsa should be able to establish the run against a Black Knights defense that struggles to stop it. Both defenses also have trouble getting off the field on third down, which could lead to plenty of long, clock-draining possessions.

Tulsa's previous two games against Navy and Rice closed with totals of 47.5 and 46.5, respectively. Both went Over, but Army plays a similar style, so I think this number has been inflated by recency bias.

Army vs Tulsa prop: Under 27.5 first half

The first-half Under 27.5 is playable down to 26.5.

Army averages 2.0 more points in the second half than in the first, which makes sense for a rushing attack that can gradually wear down opposing defenses. With less urgency early, both teams should be willing to establish the run and put together longer possessions.

Tulsa's familiarity with Army's option-based scheme could also help early. The Golden Hurricane should have a better idea of what to expect before halftime, while the Black Knights can counter with different looks and adjustments after the break.

Army vs Tulsa combo

Tulsa doesn't need this game to open up for the combo to cash. The Golden Hurricane's best path to victory is controlling possession, avoiding mistakes, and forcing Army to play from behind.

That game script should keep the clock moving and limit possessions, especially early. If Tulsa builds even a modest lead, Army's methodical offense becomes a liability because it isn't designed to chase points quickly.

Give me a lower-scoring first half, followed by Tulsa gradually taking control without this game ever turning into a shootout.
