Believe it or not, we’re already in Week 7 of the college football season, and with most of the Top 25 in action, we’ve got plenty of college football anytime touchdown picks to choose from.

This week, I’m looking at three players who are likely to get in on the ground. Caleb Hawkins is emerging as an elite running back, while DeSean Bishop is putting up great numbers. I also like quarterback Jayden Maiava to add to his scoring total on Saturday.

Let’s look at my best college football picks for Week 7.

College football anytime touchdown picks for Week 7

  • Penn State DeSean Bishop (-140)
  • Penn State Caleb Hawkins (-195)
  • Penn State Jayden Maiava (+165)

Prop bet #1: DeSean Bishop anytime TD

-140 at FanDuel

After a couple of quiet weeks to start September, DeSean Bishop has been contributing greatly to the Tennessee Volunteers' offense in their last two games. He has scored three times in that span, gaining 131 yards on 20 carries.

That production may get an even bigger boost on Saturday against the Arkansas Razorbacks. They’re allowing 30.0 ppg to their opponents, and a lot of that damage is being done to them on the ground. Arkansas is giving up 4.4 yards per rush, and it’s not like teams haven’t noticed: opponents are choosing to run the ball nearly 38 times per game against them.

Arkansas is coming off three consecutive losses and has allowed 32 points or more in each of those games. They just lost at home to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 56-13. Tennessee will likely get a lead in this game and play from ahead, incentivizing the Volunteers to run the ball even more. Given that dynamic, I love Bishop to score at some point in this game.

Prop bet #2: Caleb Hawkins anytime TD

-195 at FanDuel

A game between the South Florida Bulls and the North Texas Mean Green might not sound like big-time college football, but these two teams are right on opposite sides of the Top 25 border. This game is a virtual toss-up, but there are a few certainties we can count on in this Friday night matchup.

While he’s only four games into his collegiate career, Caleb Hawkins already looks the picture of reliability. The freshman has already scored eight times this year, and his usage is only increasing as North Texas realizes the talent it has at its disposal.

After starting with five carries in his opening game, Hawkins has seen that burden increase each week, up to 16 carries against the South Alabama Jaguars. He’s also getting a fair amount of looks in the passing game, catching seven balls on the year, including one for a touchdown in the South Alabama game.

In total, Hawkins has seven touchdowns in his last two games. The -195 number might not look that appetizing, but this might be the last time for a while we can get even those odds on Hawkins. Jump on this bet while it’s still worthwhile.

Prop bet #3: Jayden Maiava anytime TD

+165 at FanDuel

Saturday night’s matchup between the Michigan Wolverines and the USC Trojans promises to be one of the more impactful games of the week, and it presents a fascinating matchup between the teams’ strengths.

Jayden Maiava has been brilliant for the Trojans, throwing for 11 touchdowns and leading the nation in ESPN’s QBR index at 93.4. He’ll try to keep that level of production up against a Michigan defense that has allowed only 16.2 ppg on the year.

Maiava is a dual-threat quarterback, and it’s his potential to score on the ground that interests me more here. The junior already has four rushing touchdowns on the season, having scored on the ground in three of USC’s five games. He also ran for touchdowns in three of his five appearances of any length last season.

There’s no guarantee that Maiava will get on the board against the Wolverines, but I certainly like his odds — especially when we’re getting a +165 payout on someone who has found his way into the endzone in the majority of his games while at USC. That makes him a great value bet at this number.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
