Raptors vs 76ers Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

Jakob Poeltl has already been ruled out, and that will open the door for Collin Murray-Boyles to continue his solid play when the Raptors meet Joel Embiid and the 76ers.

The Toronto Raptors are going for their fifth win in a row, but it won’t be easy as they visit the Philadelphia 76ers as 5.5-point underdogs in the second half of a back-to-back.

My Raptors vs. 76ers predictions are highlighted by an under-the-radar player prop.

Raptors vs 76ers prediction

Raptors vs 76ers best bet: Collin Murray-Boyles Over 8.5 points (-105)

The Toronto Raptors are in a tough spot as they go for their fifth win in a row. They head on the road in the second half of a back-to-back to take on Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Raptors have found success with their terrific trio of Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Brandon Ingram. All are scoring more than 20 points per game and shooting better than 50% from the field.

But it’s the combination of those guys finding their groove, combined with Toronto’s solid depth, which has fueled this run. And that depth will have to be on display tonight.

Starting center Jakob Poeltl will sit this one out for load management. The 7-footer has just returned to the lineup after missing a handful of games due to a back injury, and the Raptors did an interesting thing in his absence. They went small, starting rookie Collin Murray-Boyles.

Murray-Boyles flashed his potential in three starts, averaging 11.3 points while shooting 51.9% from the floor in just over 25 minutes per game in those starts.

Expect Murray-Boyles back in the starting lineup tonight with Poeltl out. While the Sixers have been a good bet, they’ve struggled at the defensive end of the floor, ranking 23rd in defensive rating.

The opportunities will be there for Murray-Boyles tonight. Jump on the Over 8.5 for his points prop, something he did in two of the three games he started.

Raptors vs 76ers same-game parlay

With Poeltl out, it also means that Joel Embiid shouldn’t have too much resistance in the paint tonight. Embiid clearly hasn’t been his best self so far this season, but this could be a bit of a “get right” spot for Philly’s star big man.

I’ll take a shot at Over 7.5 rebounds tonight.

While this is a tough spot for the Raptors, I think their depth is a big advantage here. Or at least enough of an advantage to keep this close. Toronto also appears to be the much better defensive team at this point, ranking 10th in defensive rating. The old saying is defense travels.

Yes, the 76ers have been covering a ton of spreads, but that has mostly been as underdogs or slight favorites. This feels like too many points to be giving this solid Toronto team.

Raptors vs 76ers SGP

Our "from downtown" SGP: Dime-Dropping Barnes!

The Raptors have been an assist machine, ranking fifth in assist rate. The 76ers give up buckets, and the Raptors move the ball. Scottie Barnes should go Over this number for the fourth time in five games.
