Pacers vs Knicks picks and predictions

Our predictions are compiled from the analysis of the spread and total and are indications of where we are leaning for this game.
Our best bet is the play that we like the most for this game, which we would actually put some of our bankroll behind.

The Pacers have lost each of their last four games heading into this Tuesday night showdown with the Knicks, but Indiana really should get back on track in this one. With Randle potentially out, the Pacers have a huge advantage on both ends of the floor.

In the frontcourt, the combination of Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner is likely going to give New York some fits. Sure, the Knicks have Robinson on the inside, and the big man is going to hustle and try to protect the rim. However, it wouldn’t be too shocking if he were to get in foul trouble here, as the Pacers will play through Sabonis a lot in this game. Also, that duo is going to do plenty on the glass, so it’s not like Robinson is going to be able to continue to give New York second chances or anything.

Offensively, the Knicks are going to be relying way too heavily on guys like Alec Burks, Evan Fournier and R.J. Barrett — which is true even if Randle does end up playing here. The Knicks are without both Rose and Walker, giving them limited options on the offensive end. That trio just isn’t enough to get the job done, even against a struggling Pacers team. Indiana got some good play out of its replacement guards last game, and Justin Holiday is capable of having a big two-way impact on any given night. Don’t be surprised if he has a big performance in this one.

Prediction: Pacers +1.5 (-110)

The Under is 12-5-1 in the last 18 meetings between the Pacers and Knicks and you’ll want to gear up for another low-scoring game on Tuesday. Coming into this game, the Under is 3-1 in Indiana’s last four games and the one game that went Over the total only had 212 total points scored. Meanwhile, the Under is also 4-1 in New York’s last five games.

Over the last 10 games, the Knicks are sixth in the league in defensive rating, showing you which side of the ball this Knicks team is prioritizing right now. They’re also dead last in pace in that time, while the Pacers are just 25th in the league in that same span. These are two teams that are going to take their time and focus on getting stops. And there shouldn’t be too many big runs in this one.

Prediction: Under 208.5 (-110)

Even if Randle ends up playing in this game, it’s hard to back the Knicks with the current state of their backcourt. Things aren’t pretty with the Pacers either, but New York is missing way too much perimeter creation with Rose and Walker out. That could have been the place in which the Knicks would have had a big advantage in a game like this, but even a healthy Randle won’t allow New York to win the battle in the frontcourt. Sabonis and Turner don’t fit perfectly together, but that duo is still better than most.

The Knicks are also just 2-11 ATS in games with a total between 200 and 209.5 this season, and they have lost those games by an average of 6.7 points per game. On top of that, the Pacers are 7-3 ATS as road underdogs this season, while the Knicks are just 6-12 ATS in home games.

Pick: Pacers +1.5 (-110)
