The New York Knicks hit the road tonight looking to snap a three-game skid as they take on the Detroit Pistons.

Detroit may be the underdog on its own home court, but I’m taking it to win outright in my Knicks vs. Pistons predictions and NBA picks below.

Knicks vs Pistons prediction

Knicks vs Pistons best bet: Pistons moneyline (+115)

The New York Knicks have now lost three straight games, including their last two in New York. The biggest factor in this sudden slide may be the loss of Josh Hart, who's been out for five games with an ankle injury and will be missing tonight’s game, too.

The Detroit Pistons are also dealing with their own injury problems, as they’re currently playing without starting center Jalen Duren (17.9 ppg) and Tobias Harris (13.4 ppg). Detroit was still able to pick up a road win against the Cavaliers on Sunday in a victory that highlighted the team’s depth.

With the injuries on both sides, both teams will be playing a bit below their normal level, but it’s still worth noting that Detroit would likely be an outright favorite with two healthy lineups on the court. The Pistons are 12-3 at home, have a better point differential than the Knicks, and hold the second-best record in the NBA overall.

That, combined with what we’ve seen from the Knicks lately, has me wondering why Detroit shouldn’t be expected to win this game at home. Cade Cunningham continues to make the players around him look better, and the Pistons seem to have an endless line of quality players to work off their star. I’m taking the Pistons to win outright at home.

Knicks vs Pistons same-game parlay

Along with taking the Pistons to win at home, I’m also going to back the Under in my SGP tonight, as the injuries to both sides should trend the game below the total. I’ll also take Duncan Robinson to go Over 11.5 points, as he's averaging 11.6 ppg and should be among the players taking more shots to cover for the absences of Jalen Duren and Tobias Harris.

Our "from downtown" SGP: Cade in spades

Cunningham puts up enough volume from 3-point range to hit this target, and will likely be taking on an even bigger scoring role than normally given the current injuries for Detroit.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
