NASCAR FireKeepers Casino 400 long-shot predictions

Sleeper pick to win: Carson Hocevar
+2000 at DraftKings

Carson Hocevar was a solid 10th in his Cup Series debut at Michigan International Speedway in 2024, and followed that up with a strong first two stages in 2025.

Hocevar ran 10th in Stage 1, third in Stage 2, and led 32 laps. Unfortunately, a flat tire during Stage 3 led to an unscheduled pit stop that put him behind the eight-ball en route to a 29th-place finish.

The No. 77 driver obviously deserved a better fate that day. I expect him to build off his 10th-place finish at Nashville last Sunday and threaten for the win at his home track.

Sleeper pick to win: Bubba Wallace
+2800 at DraftKings

Bubba Wallace had what looked to be a Top-10 car at Nashville, but was collected in an accident and reported home 32nd. But there's hope for a bounce-back at Michigan.

Wallace has led multiple laps in three of his last four races here en route to two Top 5s. He's also recorded stage placings in five of his last six chances at this course.

The No. 23 driver has qualified no worse than 11th across his last four races at Michigan, so don't expect these odds to be available on race day.

Sleeper pick to win: Zane Smith
+10000 at DraftKings

Zane Smith hadn't done much outside of superspeedways this season, until the last two weeks.

Smith led 31 laps during the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte and came home 10th. He followed that up with a bold run at Nashville, leading 18 laps in the final stage and nearly outwitting the field via pit strategy. Smith settled for ninth, due in part to a late caution, but might have hit the Top 5 in the race stayed green.

The No. 38 pilot is a Truck Series winner at Michigan, and has run seventh in back-to-back tries in the Cup Series.
