The New York Mets will look to finally end their 11-game losing streak as they return home to host the Minnesota Twins tonight.

New York finally has what looks like a matchup it should win easily, and I’m taking it to break its losing streak in my Twins vs. Mets predictions. Read on to see why I like the Mets and get the rest of my MLB picks for Tuesday, April 21.

Who will win Twins vs Mets today: Mets (-157)

The New York Mets are catching a break in their first game back at Citi Field, as the Minnesota Twins are turning to starting pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson (0-3, 6.10 ERA) to take the mound after Mick Abel was placed on the injured list.

Woods Richardson has had a rough start to the season, allowing 11 earned runs in nine innings over his past two starts.

New York starter Nolan McLean continues to have an electric start to his MLB career. In four starts this season, batters are hitting .125 with a .426 OPS against McLean. The Mets should finally break their losing streak tonight.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Nolan McLean has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 11 of his 12 career starts, including all four of his outings this season.

Twins vs Mets Over/Under pick: Over 7.5 (+103)

We all know that the Mets have been downright awful offensively, but they should find success tonight against Woods Richardson.

The Twins starter has a career 4.35 ERA and 1.318 WHIP, isn’t a big strikeout pitcher, and gives up 1.3 homers per nine innings — all factors that a talented (if struggling) New York lineup can take advantage of.

But as much as I love McLean, Minnesota is likely to put up some offense. The Twins are averaging 5.09 runs per game with a .719 OPS against right-handers. Minnesota should contribute enough to push the total Over the modest 7.5 number tonight.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
