It’s Tuesday, and it’s time to find some afternoon pitcher props. It’s about as hot a card as there has been this year, leaving bettors with ample edges and angles for a full slate.

These are my three favorite MLB picks for Tuesday, July 29.

Josh's best starting pitcher props for July 29

Red Sox vs. Twins

The angle: Ohl boasts elite command and might have a very short leash.

The move: Pierson Ohl Under 1.5 walks allowed (-120 at HardRock)

The Minnesota Twins are calling up Pierson Ohl to make his MLB debut tonight, but he is a pitcher who has spent a lot of time in the bullpen and began this year at Single-A.

Ohl has not lasted more than four innings all season, and his season-high in pitches is 68. He has walked just nine batters over 66+ innings in the minors and likely won’t see the fifth inning.

There is always the worry about nerves in a debut, but given Ohl's elite command and short leash, I’m buying this walk prop to -135, and at anything shorter than that, I would jump at Under 3.5 strikeouts (+100).

Nationals vs. Astros

The angle: Alexander is lucky to be in the MLB and could lose some length if he continues to struggle.

The move: Jason Alexander Under 3.5 strikeouts (-105 at DraftKings)

The Houston Astros right-hander is lucky to get another start, and if it weren't for a handful of injuries to the Astros’ rotation, Jason Alexander would be in Triple-A.

Alexander has been pummeled for 16 runs over his last 17 innings, and the lack of strikeout production is also very evident. In his two starts where he threw 95+ pitches, he recorded just four and three strikeouts, respectively — and that was against one of the best strikeout matchups in the Athletics.

Braves vs. Royals

The angle: A new team could mean more pitches for the struggling veteran.

The move: Erick Fedde Over 2.5 earned runs (-115 at Fanatics)

Erick Fedde was recently picked up by the Atlanta Braves, as they have been hit hard by injuries to the rotation.

Over his last 10 starts, the former Cardinal sports a 7.11 ERA in just 44 innings of work. The Braves might even give him a longer leash in his team debut against the Kansas City Royals, which only boosts the value of this prop.

It’s nearly 100 degrees in Kansas City, and that could spell trouble for a pitcher who has allowed eight home runs across his last five games (17+ innings)

Fedde has been one of the worst pitchers of the summer, and his new team might make him eat some innings. This Royals offense has an incredible matchup today in a game with a total of 9.5.
