A thrilling end to the 2025 MLB season has set up one of the best matchups in baseball — an AL Wild Card series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.

I’ll break down my top three MLB player props and Red Sox vs. Yankees predictions for Game 1, highlighted by none other than Yankees slugger Aaron Judge.

Red Sox vs Yankees Game 1 props

Player BetMGM
Blue Jays Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases +105
Blue Jays Garret Crochet Over 7.5 strikeouts -130
Blue Jays Giancarlo Stanton Over 0.5 RBI +165

Red Sox vs Yankees player prop picks

Prop #1: Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases

+105 at BetMGM

The New York Yankees roll into the postseason on an eight-game win streak and nearly stole the AL East title from the Blue Jays thanks to an 11-1 run over their last 12 outings.

Aaron Judge was a massive part of New York’s late-season push, and I suspect the two-time AL MVP will carry his hot streak into Game 1 of the Wild Card series.

Judge is batting .370 in September with 62 total bases, tied for the fourth-most in the majors. The Yankees slugger has 2+ total bases in four of his last five contests, as well as four dingers over that span.

He's been very boom or bust against the Boston Red Sox this season — he has 22 strikeouts in 56 plate appearances vs. Boston but has put up a lofty .409 BABIP.

Chances are: if he makes contact, he’s snagging at least a couple of bases tonight.

Prop #2: Garrett Crochet Over 7.5 strikeouts

-130 at BetMGM

The Red Sox may not have the firepower to keep up with this loaded Yankees offense, but they do have a weapon of their own on the mound in Garrett Crochet.

The southpaw will rightfully earn plenty of Cy Young votes this season after putting up an MLB-best 255 strikeouts as well as 11.2 K/9 — second-best behind only Dylan Cease (11.5).

Crochet comes into the postseason with Over 7.5 punchouts in three of his last four starts, including a season-high 12 Ks against the Yankees back on September 14.

The Red Sox ace faced the Yankees four times this season, posting 7+ strikeouts in each appearance and 9+ Ks in three of those games.

New York had the third-most strikeouts in MLB this year with 9.03 Ks per game, so Crochet should hit his number with ease.

Prop #3: Giancarlo Stanton Over 0.5 RBI

+165 at BetMGM

We’ve talked about Judge’s hot September, but what about Giancarlo Stanton?

The Yankees' designated hitter was one of just four players to record at least 20 RBI this month as he came up huge during New York’s playoff push.

Stanton has been especially hot over the past two weeks with 17 RBI in his last 12 contests, including 10 RBI and three homers in the final four games of the season.

It’s not just a flash in the pan, either. Stanton has arguably been the Yankees’ best batter in the second half with a team-leading 52 RBI, 20 home runs, and a .650 slugging percentage since the All-Star Game.

Stanton led all players in the 2024 postseason with seven dingers and 16 RBI (tied). Look for him to come up clutch in another big game for the Yankees.
