The Toronto Blue Jays look to even their series with the Tampa Bay Rays today after a 7-1 loss on Monday, sending Kevin Gausman to the mound against Drew Rasmussen.
Toronto’s offense has cratered since the break, but Ernie Clement keeps producing, and he headlines my Tuesday card.
Read on for my Rays vs. Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks for this July 21 matchup.
Rays vs Blue Jays predictions
Rays vs Blue Jays best bet: Ernie Clement Over 1.5 total bases (+125)
The Toronto Blue Jays have been outscored 22-6 since the All-Star break, yet Ernie Clement is doing all he can to keep the offense afloat.
The second baseman is the club’s lone offensive constant, batting .298 on the season.
Clement doesn’t have a huge edge on Rays starter Drew Rasmussen (2-for-7 lifetime), but he’s the hottest hitter Toronto has. He’s picked up at least one hit in 16 of his last 20 games and cashed this same prop on Monday.
With Rasmussen struggling so far in July (13.50 ERA), I’d play this bet up to even money.

Rays vs Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)
For the same-game parlay, I’m stacking achievable legs around the home side.
I’ll start with the Blue Jays moneyline in a near-pick’em, then add Kevin Gausman Over 5.5 strikeouts, as he's cleared this line in three straight.
From there, I’ll take Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 hits and Kazuma Okamoto Over 0.5 hits, backing two of Toronto’s top bats to reach base.

- Kevin Gausman Over 5.5 strikeouts

Rays vs Blue Jays home run pick: Kazuma Okamoto (+390)
Despite a quiet stretch, Okamoto remains Toronto’s best hope for a home run.
Rasmussen’s four-seam fastball is his most vulnerable pitch, and that’s exactly what Okamoto crushes. The rookie leads the Blue Jays against four-seamers with a +12 run value and a .578 SLG.
I’ve liked his swings lately, even when he’s been just under the ball a few times. I’ll bet on Okamoto to bring it all together, sticking to my standard quarter-unit wager. I wouldn’t play this one any shorter than +350.
