It’s a getaway day on the diamond, which means there are MLB player props to bet on all day and night.

I’ve found my three favorites on the board, which include George Kirby spinning a gem while Luis Arraez continues to rack up the hits in the second half.

Check out those and more MLB picks below for Wednesday, August 6.

Best MLB player props today

  • TEAM Kirby u4.5 hits allowed (+125)
  • TEAM Arraez o1.5 hits (+130)

Our 3 best MLB player props for Wednesday, August 6

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Dustin May Over 1.5 walks allowed (-115 at Caesars)

Dustin May is set to make his debut with the Boston Red Sox tonight under the lights of Fenway Park. With the team playing so well, there’s a good chance he's amped up for this one, maybe too much so.

There’s a reason the Dodgers were willing to deal one of their former top pitching prospects at the deadline. May has struggled with consistency and his command in 2025, pitching to a 4.91 expected ERA.

While he’s got great stuff, he’s just lost the zone too much at times this season, resulting in a 9.5% walk rate, which ranks in the 29th percentile among MLB pitchers.

Tonight, he faces a pesky Kansas City Royals lineup that's sixth in MLB in walk rate since coming out of the All-Star break. He's gone Over this number in 14 of 19 starts this season, after all.

George Kirby Under 4.5 hits allowed (+125 at Caesars)

An injury cost George Kirby nearly the first two months of the regular season. So, it wasn’t a surprise when the Seattle Mariners starter looked a little rusty when he finally got back on the mound.

However, he now looks settled in and more like the guy who earned his first All-Star appearance last season. Kirby is pitching to a 2.61 ERA and a 2.63 FIP over his last seven starts, while limiting his opponents to a .191 batting average.

Tonight, his opponent is the Chicago White Sox. While the Pale Hose have been more productive in the second half of the season, this is still a team that has an AL-worst 42 wins and ranks dead last in batting average and OPS when facing right-handed pitching this season.

Kirby has a hits allowed prop sitting at 4.5 for this matchup with the Under at solid plus money. He’s held opposing teams to four hits or fewer four times over those seven starts and never allowed more than five in a start during that period.

Luis Arraez Over 1.5 hits (+130 at BetMGM)

The San Diego Padres made it quite clear they're making a strong push for a deep postseason run after the trade deadline they just had, but the table is still set on offense by second baseman Luis Arraez.

Arraez got off to a slow start this season with his batting average dipping to .273 at one point. However, he’s looked like the guy who’s been a three-time batting champ in the second half.

He enters tonight’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks hitting .365 with a solid .865 OPS over 18 games since coming out of the All-Star break. That includes nine multi-hit games.

He’ll face off against veteran right-hander Anthony DeSclafani. The 35-year-old is making just his third start and 10th appearance of the season and owns a 4.91 ERA and a 5.91 FIP in 2025. His last start did not go well, lasting just 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks.

Arraez also has great career numbers against the Arizona starter, going 5-for-6. I love getting plus money backing him to get another multi-hit game in the second half.
