It’s a busy night on the diamond Tuesday, July 29, and we’re in the stretch drive with the MLB trade deadline in sight.

My trio of MLB player props have you covered for the action and are headlined by struggling Detroit Tigers starter Casey Mize and New York Mets superstar Juan Soto.

Best MLB player props today

  • TEAM Mize Over 4.5 strikeouts (+120)
  • TEAM Lodolo Under 17.5 outs recorded (-110)
  • TEAM Soto Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-110)

Our 3 best MLB player props for Tuesday, July 29

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Casey Mize Over 4.5 strikeouts (+120 at DraftKings)

This is a bounce-back spot for Detroit Tigers righty Casey Mize

He’s been squared up for 11 runs — 10 earned — across just seven innings through two starts following the All-Star break despite a respectable 3.51 xFIP and nine strikeouts.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks are reeling in July with a below-average .311 wOBA and middling 22.3 strikeout rate, and trade rumors are swirling in the clubhouse.

Plus, Mize has also been sharper at Comerica Park with a 9.12 K/9 and 24.5 strikeout rate compared to 6.59 and 16.8% marks on the highway.

Nick Lodolo Under 17.5 outs recorded (-110 at DraftKings)

Cincinnati Reds righty Nick Lodolo threw 105 pitches during the first shutout of his MLB career last time out, so I’m anticipating a rockier start against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.

Los Angeles is third in the majors in wOBA and first in walk rate against right-handed pitchers, and Lodolo has a splash of statistical correction ahead.

His 3.80 xFIP and 3.71 xERA are both above his 3.08 ERA, and his .261 BABIP and 81.3% strand rate are way better than last year’s .290 and 68.2% marks, after all.

Juan Soto Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-110 at Bet99)

New York Mets star Juan Soto is mired in a mini-slump with a .670 OPS while going 7-for-53 at the dish with just nine runs and 10 RBI across his past 15 games.

Still, he’s sporting a high-end .398 wOBA, .235 ISO, and .947 OPS against right-handed pitchers for the season, and a matchup against San Diego Padres righty Ryan Bergert isn’t daunting.

The Friars rookie sports a 4.59 xFIP across 31 2/3 Big League innings after posting a 5.04 mark in the minors.
