There’s afternoon baseball across the league with the regular season winding down, and my top MLB player props have you covered for all the action on Thursday, September 18.

Toronto Blue Jays righty Chris Bassitt has been rolling, and he headlines my early MLB picks, with New York Yankees star Giancarlo Stanton rounding out the trio tonight.

Best MLB player props today

  • TEAM Bassitt u5.5 hits allowed (-125)
  • TEAM Tong u4.5 strikeouts (-120)
  • TEAM Stanton o1.5 H+R+RBI (-118)

Our 3 best MLB player props for Thursday, September 18

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Prop #1: Chris Bassitt Under 5.5 hits allowed

-125 at BetMGM

Toronto Blue Jays righty Chris Bassitt has allowed five or fewer hits in each of his past four starts while spinning a tidy 2.08 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. Opposing hitters sport a minuscule .175 batting average against him during the run, too.

Obviously, there’s a splash of statistical correction coming for Bassitt, but there’s also oodles of room for negative regression, and this Under to still cash.

Prop #2: Jonah Tong Under 4.5 strikeouts

-120 at BetMGM

New York Mets righty Jonah Tong was hit hard and didn’t pitch out of the first inning of his last start, and now he faces a solid and disciplined San Diego Padres lineup.

The Friars have the third-lowest strikeout percentage against righties this season and also rank eighth in wOBA across the past two weeks.

Plus, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tong has a short leash with the Mets fighting for a postseason berth.

Prop #3: Giancarlo Stanton Over 1.5 hits+runs+RBI

-118 at BetMGM

New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton had Wednesday off to recharge following a two-hit, two-RBI night, and now he lands in a favorable matchup with Baltimore Orioles lefty Cade Povich.

Povich has served up a healthy .341 wOBA and .451 slugging percentage to right-handed hitters, and Stanton hits in the middle of the power-packed New York lineup.
