Our 3 best MLB player props for Monday, September 1
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Spencer Torkelson Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI
Sean Manaea has done a great job of sucking the power out of left-handed bats. However, the same can’t be said against righties.
Manaea has allowed right-handed hitters to post a .200 ISO and hit 1.7 homers per nine innings of work. That’s good news for Detroit Tigers 1B Spencer Torkelson, who has teed off on left-handed pitching to the tune of a .276 average and .299 ISO.
Manaea throws fastballs and sweepers almost exclusively against righties, using one of those two pitches nearly 93% of the time. Torkelson has hit for a ton of power vs. both pitches, posting ISOs of .421 against the fastball and .375 against sweepers.

Prop #2: Carlos Correa Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI
Carlos Correa is a cheat code against Yusei Kikuchi. He’s had 25 at-bats against the veteran lefty and has won the head-to-head battle as decisively as possible, with 13 hits for a ridiculous .520 average.
Correa has also hit lefties very well this season, batting .283 with an ISO approaching .200. Kikuchi is a fastball-first pitcher, and Correa has hit .343 with a .313 ISO vs. lefty fastballs on the year. Correa has been quiet at the dish of late, but this is a mouthwatering matchup to get him out of this funk for our MLB picks.

Prop #3: Alec Bohm Over 0.5 singles
Alec Bohm has piled up the singles all year long. He has hit at least one single in 63% of his games and owns a 65% hit rate on the road.
Independent of the matchup, his success rate through well over 100 games indicates something in the -170 price range would be closer to fair value.
Now, Jacob Misiorowski is a difficult matchup, but he throws the fastball a ton, and Bohm has a .304 average against that pitch. Misiorowski has also allowed 13 runs over his last 14 1/3 innings, so it’s not as if he’s immune to giving up offense.
