Our 3 best MLB player props for Friday, September 19
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Shota Imanaga Over 2.5 earned runs
Shota Imanaga has been one of the Cubs’ best arms this season, but he’s not exactly thriving lately. The Japanese left-hander has allowed Over 2.5 earned runs in four consecutive starts, giving up three earned in each outing.
There’s not much difference in his efficiency on the road compared to at home. His ERA sits at 3.29 overall, and he’ll face the Cincinnati Reds this evening.
While they’re not exactly an elite offensive ball club, Imanaga simply isn’t at his best right now. The HR has been a major issue over the last month as well.
He faced the Reds earlier this year and only allowed one earned run. Nevertheless, I expect Imanaga to cash the Over again, even if it’s only three earned, just like his previous four appearances.

Prop #2: Garrett Crochet Under 1.5 earned runs
Garrett Crochet has fully lived up to expectations in his first season with the Red Sox. The southpaw is the ace of this staff, compiling a 16-5 record and 2.63 ERA in 30 starts, striking out 240 in 191 1/3 innings of work.
While Crochet did allow three earned runs to the Yankees last time out, he’s still hit the Under in earned runs surrendered in three of his previous six outings. This is a low total, but he’s also facing the Rays tonight, whom Crochet has already dominated this year.
The lefty threw a complete game shutout against them in July, allowing a mere three hits. He’s also even more dominant on the road, posting a 2.29 ERA and 11-2 record. Crochet will bring his best against a divisional rival.

Prop #3: Salvador Perez home run
This one may feel a bit risky, but there’s reason to believe Salvador Perez could go deep.
He’ll be facing Max Scherzer of the Blue Jays, and the catcher is 12-for-34 lifetime with three homers against him. Perez is also swinging it well lately, smacking four round-trippers across his last five contests.
Overall, the veteran has 29 bombs, and 27 of them are off right-handed pitchers. Scherzer has definitely had issues with the long ball as well, allowing 16 in just 15 starts. Right-handed batters have smacked five of them.
He’s also given up five homers across his last four outings. Perez could reach No. 30 tonight for the Royals.
