The Toronto Blue Jays are in a skid, but the schedule hands them a soft landing.
Sean Manaea is a lefty who's been knocked around by right-handed bats all year, and that opens up a few spots I really like in Toronto’s lineup. The best of them sits right at the top of the order.
Read on for my Mets vs. Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks for tonight's matchup.
Mets vs Blue Jays predictions
Mets vs Blue Jays best bet: George Springer Over 1.5 total bases (+120)
It hasn’t been George Springer’s sharpest start to the year, but the swings are coming around, and the extra-base power is still in there. He’s always been a guy who’s one good cut away from getting locked in, and this is the kind of matchup that does it.
The history is what sells me. He's 13-for-41 in his career against Sean Manaea with two doubles, a home run, and eight RBI. That’s an .830 OPS over a sample big enough to mean something. He's seen this guy plenty; he’s comfortable against him, and he should get at least two looks before the Mets dig into their bullpen.
At plus money for a hitter who's dialed in on the matchup, I’m happy to take Springer to find a barrel. I'd play this to +110.

Mets vs Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)
I’ll start with the Toronto Blue Jays on the run line at -1.5. Toronto’s offense has been explosive in stretches this year. While starting pitching has held the Jays back this year, Trey Yesavage has the stuff to out-duel Manaea on the other side.
Staying on that theme, I’ll take Yesavage over 6.5 strikeouts. The Mets are 15th in baseball with 8.32 strikeouts per game as a team, which doesn’t give a clear edge, but Toronto needs length out of Yesavage with a tired bullpen. He’ll get a long leash, and as the game mounts, he’ll find his rhythm and miss more bats.
The last leg is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to go Over 0.5 hits. He’s 3-for-6 lifetime off Manaea, and even with the power down a touch this season, he can still flick a single into center or shoot one the other way.
Mets vs Blue Jays SGP
- Blue Jays -1.5
- Trey Yesavage Over 6.5 strikeouts
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 hits
Mets vs Blue Jays home run pick: Kazuma Okamoto (+260)
This bet is wisely priced, so I’d only play Kazuma Okamoto to go deep at no shorter than +250. The reasoning is still sharp, though.
Manaea has been homer-prone for most of his career at 1.2 homers per nine, and righties have teed off on him this year to the tune of an .856 OPS. Okamoto does his best work against lefties, with an .811 OPS and five homers in just 72 at-bats off southpaws.
Given the price and how volatile home run props can be, I’m keeping this one to a quarter-unit.
