The people love lasers and moonshots, so why not give them what they want? I’m dishing out my favorite hitters to go deep while bringing some serious exit velocity.

For those who are not aware, lasers are home runs hit between 105+ and 110+ MPH on FanDuel, while moonshots are home runs hit 400+ and 420+ feet.

You can chase the value if you want, but I’m going to give you what I believe are the best looks for these MLB player props.

110+ MPH Laser pick: Shohei Ohtani (+700 at FanDuel)

You want lasers? Here you go. Shohei Ohtani versus Gerrit Cole is one of the best matchups on the board, and it's one that's primed for plenty of hard contact.

Ohtani enters Friday with the highest matchup hard contact rate among elite-rated hitters on Batters-Box, while also owning an 85.6% arsenal coverage against Cole's pitch mix.

Cole has struggled against left-handed hitters this season, allowing a 55% hard hit rate and a 14.3% barrel rate. On top of that, he owns a 2.7 HR/9 against lefties, who have also produced a .642 xSLG and .340 xwOBA against him.

With Cole leaning heavily on his fastball, if Ohtani gets a hold of one, we should be golden.

400+ FT Moonshot pick: Yordan Alvarez (+420 at FanDuel)

One of, if not the most dangerous hitters in baseball, is Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez. This evening, he finds himself in an elite spot on Batters-Box, as he draws Dean Kremer, whom he has 100% arsenal coverage against.

Despite Kremer not allowing as much hard contact or elevation against left-handed hitters this season, Alvarez is such a powerful and elite fly ball hitter that he becomes an outlier in this matchup.

Over his last 60 at-bats against right-handed hitters, he is generating nearly 58% hard contact and a 21.1% barrel rate, while owning a .380 ISO and .480 wOBA.

Fun fact: Alvarez’s average home run distance is around 412 feet. We just need 400.

105+ MPH Laser pick: Ben Rice (+550 at FanDuel)

Ben Rice finds himself in a spot to boom as he takes on Dodgers right-hander Roki Sasaki. The young right-hander has been allowing a ton of hard contact over his most recent starts. Over his last five starts, Sasaki is allowing nearly a 45% hard hit rate and nearly a 17% barrel rate to opposing hitters.

Rice owns one of the highest ratings on Batters-Box this evening, with a 62% arsenal coverage against Sasaki. The Yankees All-Star, through 20 elite ratings this season, has left the yard 35% of the time.

Over his last 30 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, he owns a .826 SLG, 1.293 OPS, and .522 ISO, while producing a 66.7% hard hit rate and 26.7% barrel rate.

If Rice gets a hold of one, I think it is going to be a laser!
